I'm going to the Unholy Alliance tour next Wednesday, and COB will be there. This will be my first time seeing COB live. I haven't heard a whole lot about their live performance, so what should I expect?

They're pretty good live, I guess.

I probably won't go to the Unholy Alliance since Bodom are only playing 8 songs, and I've seen Slayer and Lamb of God twice before. I'll wait 'till they do a headlining tour or sum sh[size=2]i[/size]t.

that was the only reason i even considered going (BODOM), but i couldnt justify the expense just to see them

I was jus thinkin on another thread... does anyone think that Bodom should tone down on the keyboards and focus more on the guitars? Personally, I think that they keyboards are an awesome addtion but should be more in the background (fewer keyboard solos, for example)

I like the effect the keyboard has to the melody, I think the mix is good.

The song Angels Dont Kill, awesome song. The keyboard is a little less up front but still adds incredibly to the melody.

I'm not super wild about the Keyboards. Janne is amazing...but I think years from now we will look back and think his effects are lame...kinda like how I look back at a bunch of that 80's stuff and it just sounds...outdated


and guitars and amps just don't seem to ever sound "Outdated"

but I give him props for being so freakin good

thats what i think even today when i hear his effects on Haterbreeder or Follow the Reaper... its not the best keyboard sound i ever heard.

I like it :p The early stuff that uses a fair bit of keys is great IMO.

i finished my last homework for university and will travel home today, so i won't be able to be online that often as i used to be.

No. The presence of the keyboard is great and his keyboard solos are awesome. There's more focus on the guitars on Hatecrew Deathroll and Are You Dead Yet.

I would hate it if Janne toned down his keys.

Yeah me too. I agree with anyone that says Bodom use their keyboards in a unique way. Not to create atmosphere, but to interact with the guitar and extend and enhance the melodies.

I don't like the tones he uses for the keyboard solo's much, but I love the glassy sounds. Like in the beginning of Downfall and such.

If it's because she's really pretty, it probably won't last. Usually most people love the thought of getting married just because someone's good looking but they don't really think of all the after effects.
