Paul Gilbert has great style, but after watching some videos from japan, where only he alone play on stage like G3 does, it was awful... all the time the same licks in another position... it gets boring.
what i love are his songs by racer x: scarified, technical difficulties... fantastic :D |
Nooo
Watch Racer X videos. Noone can play that stuff like he can, seriously. I'm not mad on his new bluesy style, but his playing back then pwns life. |
Paul Gilbert/Racer X is boring as fuck. :(
|
gtfo of my fred. :)
Paul Gilbert pwns. I don't really like the old Racer X but some songs off Superheroes and Technical Difficulties are cool. No denying he's an amazing player though. |

Yeah his style was pretty cool. It's rubbed off on me but unfortunately I can't keep up with his speed or accuracy. That's what so amazing about him, is his accuracy.
Have you seen this?: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AqRvYDkXP2c&search=paul%20gilbert%20intense%20rock  tbh |
yeah, this one is definitely
what i was talking about is this - he lost his inspiration http://youtube.com/watch?v=HC60XNiS-MQ&search=paul%20gilbert |
He still rips in that though. At least now he's a respected musician as opposed to just a boring shredder which is what most people thought of him.
That's still one of his more impressive solos. |
I never found Paul Gilbert particularly impressive.
|
yeah my teachers a big fan, he let me borrow his Racer X cd and i'v been listening to him ever since he rips, i like his solo with Billy Sheehan.
EDIT: theres boring shredders??? |

John Petrucci is one of the few with taste. Most shredders lack variation, which is why all you should submit to swapping out all of them with Shawn Lane. /facts Gilbert isn't very impressive either. Hails Ben! /more facts |
ur gay :(

ur moms gay lolz

EDIT: SHawn Lane is one of the many Who didnt really impress me, My teacher let me watch one of his video on VHS and i only watched about 10 mins before drifting off.
You don't know the definition of boring? Monotonous, uncreative, sleep-inducing, and whatever other adjective you want to use to describe it. I don't like his playing at all. Shawn Lane, however, is freakin' amazing...from the one video I've seen. |

There's like 3/10 shredding though (which is way harder/faster than any other of these big shredders). Woo, I love talking this highly of a musician and being 100% truthful. Watch these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGP_-5pgVs0&search=shawn%20lane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI3QnZEL0F8&search=shawn%20lane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4naGFSdu38M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYoWCWo89tk&search=shawn%20lane |
Shawn Lane's music is boring to me too.
He was an amazing player though no doubt about it. I like Epilogue for Lisa but that's about it. Btw, Ben's post count is 11,111. ONE! |
How can it possibly be boring >:-|

Josh, I think you're sue for another name change.

I have a big amount of just like trolling/spamming accounts, notably severed013 and laihorocker666. Past there I don't really remember. QUICKEDIT: ToRidTheDisease was another. |
Oh man, I can't keep track of you. :( I came back to this thread and met you when you were TSASI and we've been "chums" ever since.
BTW, you're the best man at my wedding. |
