Paul Gilbert has great style, but after watching some videos from japan, where only he alone play on stage like G3 does, it was awful... all the time the same licks in another position... it gets boring.

i know, i know... i too only like his old stuff and only some songs. he had a great classical style in his former days!

Yeah his style was pretty cool. It's rubbed off on me but unfortunately I can't keep up with his speed or accuracy. That's what so amazing about him, is his accuracy.

He still rips in that though. At least now he's a respected musician as opposed to just a boring shredder which is what most people thought of him.

yeah my teachers a big fan, he let me borrow his Racer X cd and i'v been listening to him ever since he rips, i like his solo with Billy Sheehan.

You all should buy Power of Ten Live from Lane. It's got some of the best music i've ever heard. There's like 3/10 shredding though (which is way harder/faster than any other of these big shredders). Woo, I love talking this highly of a musician and being 100% truthful.

Shawn Lane's music is boring to me too.

He was an amazing player though no doubt about it. I like Epilogue for Lisa but that's about it.
