It was worth seeing him post again.

Turkish 04-27-2006 01:55 PM

I love Sober, even with how popular it got.

I loved it when they opened up with it when I saw them in 2002, it was fucking ace.

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-27-2006 01:56 PM

Swamp Song, Disposition, and Triad.

I assume Disgustipated doesn't count?

Turkish 04-27-2006 01:58 PM

I dunno, songs I'm not particularly fond of is songs like Schism, Bottom, and Jimmy. That's really about it.

Magicaltroll 04-27-2006 02:11 PM

I love Bottom and Jimmy, especially Bottom.

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-27-2006 02:13 PM

I love Maynard's vocals in Jimmy.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:13 PM

Jimmy?!?!

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-27-2006 02:15 PM

Hey, who's the guy who doesn't like Sober?!

Moses 04-27-2006 02:18 PM

Vicarious.

I love Jimmy. I don't understand why people hate it.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:18 PM

Lol, I dunno, just didn't dig Jimmy too much.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:22 PM

Moses 04-27-2006 02:27 PM
moses, you probably just dont get that track
It just didn't grow on me because I deleted it after the fifth listen. I get what they were doing, it just didn't get me going.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:29 PM

please explain "what they were doing"

I was referring to the message the song tries to put across to the audience

Toaster 04-27-2006 02:31 PM

Actually, I don't like Vicarious either. It's probably not my least favourite Tool song, though.

Not my most hated, I like it more than Schizm, just definitely not my favorite.

My favorite tracks my TOOL is 4 Degrees.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:38 PM

i think everyone likes 4 degrees, just not the homosexual references

gmoneyguy 04-27-2006 02:40 PM

If its any condolance Che, I like Vicarious.

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:42 PM
If its any condolance Che, I like Vicarious.
ah <3 gtrguy :D

im a firm believer that if you understand the lyrics/message, you'd really have no choice.

Im gonna learn the tab this week. Hopefully its pretty close. It should be easy enough to try some double tracking. Unfortunately, my recording experience is extremely limited

It sounds easy, but some songs that sound easy can be somewhat difficult.

What they were doing musically speaking was just meh, not very interesting. There's hardly any tune in it and even when there was it was just like, blah blah blah. In my opinion a horrible choice for a single.

And the lyrics weren't really that great either. I read them a couple times while listening to the song but it didn't seem like anything that hasn't been said before.

the only hard thing is getting used to the 5/4. Its really not that HARD so much as throwing off my down beats. Its good practice. I should have been doing this kind of stuff months ago

edit :

/reads Moses's post

you totally didnt get it then

gmoneyguy 04-27-2006 02:50 PM

Moses how much do you know theory wise?

What was I supposed to get? I thought it was pretty straight foward.

5/4 is easy though once you get it right a few times. Usually the accents are on 3 and 5. Since they are syncopated weird between the bass and guitar it might be different though.
Moses how much do you know theory wise?
Quite a bit. I've been playing classical piano since 11 and started playing Jazz a year and a half ago.

Moses 04-27-2006 02:54 PM

Yeah, it's a mean joke too.

Esoteric_Creator 04-27-2006 02:55 PM

The only song I always skip is "Die Eier Von Satan"..

1. It's a receipe about cookies, or eggs, or something...I think..
2. I don't know German..
3. Hitler is annoying, and so is the dude reciting the receipe..
4. I like the message of how you can read a phonebook in an authoritive way, and get people to follow you...but I don't want an example..

hmm.. It doesn't quite seem like it but I'm not gonna argue.

Strictly translated Die Eier Von Satan means the egg from satan, so I think its a recepe for deviled eggs

kurrpt 04-27-2006 02:57 PM

yea, i try to stay away from arguements nowadays online. It just winds up as me blocking people in the long run

edit : actually gtrguy. Ive seen the translation. Its for like hash/weed brownies, but with NO EGGS

apparently un kiner eir means "and no eggs"

I'm Charming 04-27-2006 03:46 PM

I'm officially back into Tool.

I listened to Aneima all the way through and remembed why I loved it so much.

I only like a couple songs off ten thousand days.

I'm looking forward to that Undertow on the dailyupload

Lateralus isn't my fav but has some good tunes.
