Someone else might call it their best though. :thumb:

Anyways, vote here people. You dont have to vote for hetfield, but at least vote for whoever you want to since many people in this thread haven't voted yet. including me. Im waiting to see if hetfield will have enough votes to go on or not. :)

yea i'm waiting to vote. i really want hetfield to make it thru, but i'm deciding between Slash, Hetfield, and Lifeson. Hetfield really is an incredible riff writer, but it's too bad most people here vote for the astonishing soloist rather than the best overall player (which is why i'm stuck between those three) it wouldn't matter so much if Hetfield didn't go another round, but i think he deserves it.

it should be hetfield/hammett combo, because the stuff they put together is absolutely amazing. it should be like that for the young bros. too

blue3 04-19-2005 05:38 PM

I voted Slash in that poll..

Joe 04-19-2005 05:40 PM
I voted Slash in that poll..
i see, your a big GnR fan

LarsAgi007 04-19-2005 05:41 PM

*Voted Hetfield, No questions asked*!

blue3 04-19-2005 05:43 PM
i see, your a big GnR fan
Well it was obvious that I'd pick Slash.. but I would've voted Hetfield if Slash wasn't on that list

Endless Obsession 04-19-2005 06:29 PM

I voted Hetfield. I know im a Metallica fanboy.

Deth 04-19-2005 06:50 PM

I voted Lifeson.

Because everyone's confused, a spider riff is like this:

-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------
---7------5------------------------------------------
---5-8----3-6----------------------------------------
-----6------4----------------------------------------

You finger the chords on the 5th and 4th string with your first and third fingers and the chords on the 6th and 5th with your second and fourth fingers, making changing the chords much faster and smoother.

willis2441 04-19-2005 07:12 PM

wtf is a spider riff?

Deth 04-19-2005 07:16 PM

I just explained it.

*sighs in exasperation*

You use all 4 fingers to play two chords, which I illistrated above. The first is done with the first and the third fingers (aka normally) the second is played a fret higher on the string down with the remaining two fingers.

Is it weird that I use my index and pinky to play chords?

blue3 04-19-2005 08:07 PM

Uh, no. What chords?

Joe 04-19-2005 08:11 PM
Is it weird that I use my index and pinky to play chords?
depends on what chords. if they're 5ths good luck...

and that spider riff thing is really easy. thanks for the tip!

lilmetallica 04-19-2005 08:14 PM

Like power chords cuz every one i know uses like their ring finger and their indexfinger.

i am the robots 04-19-2005 08:20 PM
Like power chords cuz every one i know uses like their ring finger and their indexfinger.
that's odd, but do you have small hands? cause if so, that'd make a lot of sense.

Kirk Hammett uses his index and pinky.

Sup julianne :D Actually It helps loads when playing songs like fade to black (you know the part that is fast in the intro) and other solos that require extensive fingering.

blue3 04-19-2005 09:20 PM

Hey!

I never learned Fade to Black yet..

Endless Obsession 04-19-2005 09:47 PM
