Thats so wierd because I always had a funny feeling about that guy. Especially the way he posted how nobody likes him and all that. It makes so much sense now.
Im not trying to say what he did was okay, because it wasnt it was awful. But if you are going to leave your cell phone number out to the public, then you should be ready for calls like that.
Not really...a lot of people know better than to call someone they'll probably never meet. Also, my birthday is tomorrow. Hurray. |
Not really...a lot of people know better than to call someone they'll probably never meet.
Yeah but there are those few, like CG9 that do call you, and if she never put that number up it wouldnt have happened. |
I am going to see Shadows Fall, Trivium, Mudvayne, In Flames and Ill Nino today, hurrah. And I am leaving when Disturbed hits the stage because they do not deserve to be headlining.
 :jealous: I don't get how Disturbed are headlining. I mean, I know they have a new album out, but oh well. Ill Nino put on a good live show from reports I've read, but their music (on the albums, anyway) are average-good, depending on the songs. They have a new song out which sounds like it's some of the best material they've written, but that isn't saying much. I do have to give Disturbed credit for covering Genesis' "Land of Confusion" on Ten-Thousand Fists. Draiman sounds almost exactly, dead-nuts like Phil Collins in the intro. And Donnegan is a good guitarist. I can upload the track, if you'd like. oic, no one cares :p I don't think I need to talk about how good Shadows Fall and Trivium are, and I won't talk about Mudvayne because of the whole one-of-my-favorite-bands thing, heh. And I'd like to hear In Flames play their new stuff. I feel like one of the only people in the world who likes stuff from STYE and RtR. $.02 |
Completely, Utterly Random Thing I Have To Say Everytime Phil Collins Is Mentioned: At the "Snow Game" (aka "The Tuck Game"), when the refs were reviewing Brady's fumble to see if he brought the ball to his body, "In The Air Tonight" was playing over the PA.
Whenever I hear about Phil Collins, I always instinctively think of that. |

Not happening.
They really aren't that new though...they are just finally getting some attention, which they have deserved for awhile now.
I wonder how come and they're getting attention. They're neither trendy ( metalcore) or commercial...
Thats so wierd because I always had a funny feeling about that guy. Yeah, dismiss it. Joe D has gone on record saying that he's not going to give up two cornerstones of our franchise and two round picks for one guy. He's called the report "unplausible and ridiculous." I think that's pretty convincing. I mean, he just signed a five-year extension, he doesn't want the entire city after his head. He cited a number of players that he called the Pistons "core," and labeled them as "untouchable:" Billups, Hamilton, the Wallaces, Prince, and Lindsey Hunter. Funny how he didn't mention Darko :p EDIT: wtf at R.Blythe for reading one of our local newspapers. I swear, I just saw your response, commented, and then found I was beaten to it by someone who doesn't even live in my state. /drop-kick |

Im here again, for like, 5 minutes, once again with a free beer. Hello.

Long time no see
Enjoying yourself? |
Sure am, lots of free beers and meeting a great lady.
I got reallllyyy wasted the other night though. And bought a novelty cigar that is about 20 inches long and 2 inches wide, BUT ACTUALLY LIGHTS AND SMOKES. I also started smoking Camels, and too many of them. |
When you say Camels...

I know that feeling...meh, it all works out once you have the cds though. Camels are a brand of cigarettes (I'm sure you know this). |

 I've seen that before... Smoking's horrid for you, and drains your money. Why do it? |
I dunno, it tastes nice, makes you feel good, and also gives you a reason to sit around alone and not look like a dick.

I'm sure it'll make you feel good 20 years from now, when you're carrying around an oxygen bottle. :thumb:

I swear, I just saw your response, commented, and then found I was beaten to it by someone who doesn't even live in my state. /drop-kick
I think it would be a great trade for both teams. KG is a top five player in the NBA who is a force on offense AND defense, as well as on the boards. Trading a few low first rounders isn't going to kill them anyway. Even if Dumars never mentioned Darko, he's never going to trade him, because that would tell the rest of the basketball world, "Whoops, I made a mistake in drafting this guy", and he certainly doesn't want to look weak. BTW, two-faced scoundrels run the Pistons. It is incredulous to me how a group of men who unceremoniously pushed Isiah Thomas and Chuck Daly out of town and turned around and whine and call themselves victims during the Larry Brown saga. Is what Brown did ethical? Of course not. But it is hypocritical of the Pistons to villify him for it when they are guilty of the same thing in the past. It's called karma, gentleman. Brown ultimately wins here. He was a punching bag in Detroit because the city and press loved Dumars going back to his playing days. In New York Isiah is the punching bag and Brown is the savior. If he can get the Knicks into the playoffs, he's got the whole city wrapped around his finger. Meanwhile, the Pistons lose. Flip Saunders is a guy who was good at getting the Wolves TO the playoffs, but he never pushed them over the top. He was far too indecisive to deal with the Wolves' biggest problems last year: Spree and Cassell. He kept his job all these years because he happens to be the best friend of the man who runs the Timberwolves. Also, while the Pistons sat on their hands this summer (an act of defiance, no doubt), their biggest rivals for the Eastern throne--the Pacers and Heat--made moves to upgrade their team (although the Heat could go either way). The Pistons will probably suffer from that too. In summary, what Larry Brown did was wrong but the Pistons had it coming, and I like the Pacers to win the East this year (and then lose to the Spurs in the Finals). Also, I got Madden 06. I haven't played it yet, though. |

J-Will was 5th in Assists per 48 minutes last year, and if Antoine Walker and keep his mouth shut, and play his role, they will be great. J-Wills problem is his assists to turnover ratio which was 16th last year. But some experts say he is one of the best at the entry pass, which is great when you have Shaq manning the paint. With all the attention on Shaq and Wade, I definitly think that this gives Walker a chance to put up some decent numbers offensively, he has always had a good shot. If he complains too much you can always put in Haslem, and give Walker a taste of the bench, it may improve his aditude. And Madden looks awesome, my PS2 is broken but im buying a used one soon, and thats the first game im going to get. Tell me how it is. |

Can they count on Walker to do what Haslem did perfectly--rebound, pick up Shaq's man on D if needed, and pick up scraps on offense? Nope. Watching Walker last season, it amazed me how poor his low-post game is---no one in the league misses more layups and four-foot bank shots. There are two reasons for this: one, he has no hops because his legs are completely shot (remember, for about six years he average 40 minutes a game for 80-plus games a season) and two, his free throw shooting is so poor that he rushes those inside shots before he can get fouled. And he is a cancer to a running team because he is under the impression that he is the next Magic Johnson What he's best at now is hitting open jumpers, throwing passes inside to big men, and the occasional pick-and-roll. IF he can do that ego-free, the Heat will probably be okay. However, as we saw from his brief stint with the Mavs, he can't handle a diminished role on a playoff team. He'll be back to his running, gunning, passes-in-the-stands ways in no time. Jason Williams was a huge gamble too. They're clearly operating under the way of thinking that if you pair a headcase with a top dog, the top dog can rein in the headcase and maximize the headcase's abilities to help the team. The most famous case of this was Jordan and Rodman on the Bulls in the 90's. I like Posey a lot though. I think Posey is worth Eddie Jones alone. |

He needs to understand his role, and im guessing it will be to shoot open jumpers when Wade and or Shaq are being doubled, he will get enough of them to most likely be productive. I agree about J-Will, he could go either way. But I think that Van Gundy will do a good job of convincing people of their roles, and if everyone can understand what they are there to do, and do it to the BEST of their abilities, then they should be able to win it all. Its hard to win a championship without taking some risks and gambles. Their team obviously wasnt good enough so they had to do something in the offseason. And this will work either way. Remember, they didnt lose much either. |
In all fairness, the Heat got rather unlucky with injuries--Shaq's balky knee, D-Wade getting hurt in Game 5 of the ECF. Either one of those two injuries don't happen and they're in the Finals.
I still like the Pacers, though. A starting 5 of Tinsley, Jackson, Artest, O'Neal, and Foster with Granger and the Jonses rounding out an 8 man rotation and a half-decent backup PG (Anthony Johnson) could be pencilled in for 60 wins IMO. They were a 60-win team last year until the Malice in the Palace derailed them. |

The Heat are dependent on this trade to work out. And the Pistons are dependent on Saunders to be a good coach. Pacers are a good pick to come out of the east, but I think the loss of Reggie Miller will hurt them come playoff time. Even if he was ancient he was still clutch, and had some game left in him. After the suspensions he was the best player they had left most of the season. |
That's why they picked up Stephen Jackson before last year. He was the only guy on the team other than Reggie who was unafraid to take the big shot.
