i have been digging these two songs in particular
Madvillain - Money Folder (Four Tet remix) Doom is a damn good mc, and four tet puts up such a great beat for this song, but the best part to me though is that driving synth melody. like as soon as it starts your elike ohhh this is gonna be tight... and then it is! and that jazz noise interlude is sweet too, and when he brings back the synth its like yeeeeaaaaaaa ITS BACK ha i duno its tight. http://members.cox.net/nickingv/03%20Money%20Folder%20(Four%20Tet%20Remix).mp3 Other Men - False Positives this is one of my favorite songs on Wake Up Swimming.. i love everything about it. all the melodies, vocal and instrumental have become very catchy to me, and theyre fun to sing really loud driving around. yeah. Nas - Illmatic
M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts Cassius - 1999 |
Wilco - Being There
I'm running out of media of artists I am going to see at bonnaroo, and my computer can't handle downloading anymore. This is upsetting.
I 'm doing the same thing...except instead of Bonnaroo (Curses at you,I say) it's for Allgood Festival. It's no where near the magnitude of Bonnaroo, but it'll be an amazing journey to a jam fest none the less. The Descendents - Milo Goes To College Goon Moon - Lickers Last leg Bob Schneider - The Californian Melt Banana - Bambi's Dilemma |
QOTSA - Era Vulgaris
Some reasons why this is decidedly average (it would've been disappointing if I didn't expect it to suck bad): 1. Most songs fairly boring. Not bad, just average 2. Josh Homme is a turd 3. There's only a few solos that last no longer than 15 seconds 4. The guests suck, apart from Mark Lanegan. And he's unnoticeable 5. They did another version of "Make it with chu". It sucked before, it sucks still. fags 6. The title and artwork really suck I'll think of more later |
I wonder if Tangy likes the new QOTSA.
|
The new Portugal the Man is awesome.

i still have never heard them
maybe ill check the new one out |
Go! Team - Thunder.....
new album is likely to kick *** Boris - Rainbow |
Found myself a copy of The National - Boxer and have been enjoying it since I put it on.
|
Red House Painters-II
|
Volcano Suns - All Night Lotus Party and The Bright Orange Years
i've read that they sound like Husker Du meets Mudhoney, and that's pretty dead on. But they're not nearly as kickass as either of those.
Built to Spill - There's Nothing Wrong With Love Cool.
that's my favorite Built to Spill album. i don't know why it's not more popular here. it's a total classic. |
James Brown - The Payback
This is my first James Brown album I think. I'd get all the other albums in the Soul Recommendations thread in other music if my soulseek wasn't being such a bitch. |
Johnette Napolitano
Johnette Napolitano, (of Concrete Blonde), has a brand new solo album out called Scarred. On her web page johnettenapolitano.com you can hear the new songs playing in sequence. This is definitely worth checking out. The opening song "Amazing" is just that. You can also download a free copy of the bonus track on the site.

Just because it's different does not mean its 'mad overrated'. Its just a different sound. Great for driving. 100% worth a shot at least.

The new White Stripes is their best is ages.
Also - slightly embarrasingly - Jack Off Jill. I figured I'd grow out of them but I still get a kick out of a lot of their stuff. |

I'm kinda the same, although I really like about half of White Blood Cells. But yeah, I'd say it's the best since then. There's two seriously dodgy Celtic-style songs in the middle that just don't work, but the rest is solid and refreshingly marimba-free. Whether it's better than De Stijl is debatable, but probably not.
|
Nice. I'll have to check it out.
Strung Out - Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow |
the flaming lips - the soft bulletin
