What Ghost said... DVD Decrypter used to be solid. (rip to an ISO), the new version fukks up your registry when you uninstall though. So that's a skip.

Download "dvd shrink"...It'll compress say an 8gb movie, into 3 or 4 gb.

I've used Sonic Record Now to rip a DVD as an ISO and a billion other things.
i saw them in vienna on 6.1.2006 after their concert. after the show i was sitting in the pub, which is part of the concert hall and waited. at about 2am all the band members were sitting suddenly in the same room. so i just had to go to them and talk ;)
oh.. that seems easy. I doubt it would happen to me though, cause I'd have to get in a pub which I can't.

repcak 07-06-2006 11:29 AM

so i ordered my Jackson DXMG in the other guitar shop.
for 499€ instead of 520€
it will take only one week, not 2-3weeks
if i decide not to buy it, its not a problem :thumb:

so next week i will hold it in my hands. the only stupid thing is that i (maybe) won't be able to negotiate the guitar to 480 or 470€...

I fell in love with Follow The Reaper again. Everytime I die > rest of album

AA-12 07-07-2006 02:58 AM

Something Wild is the only Bodom I listen to anymore.

MRDuCran 07-07-2006 03:57 AM

I like all the songs now that I never used to before. Only because I never had the albums so I never knew they sounded like. Like Children of Decadence and Follow the Reaper.

AllHailExecution 07-07-2006 05:20 PM

They are a kick *** band. I'm seeing them in 4 days! :D

Fish 07-08-2006 01:04 AM

my friend is asking me to do a CoB cover with him, which songs would be good, me personally i dont really listen to them, any suggestions? Cause he doesnt care which one i pick.

Huber 07-08-2006 01:11 AM

will they include keyboards? I've thought of doing tons of CoB covers with my buds but then we always realize it's really hard to sound good without keyboards.

Maybe something off of Are You Dead Yet? would work best.

Fish 07-08-2006 01:25 AM

yeah, we dont have keyboard, but he can already play pretty much every song, I just never really got into them. I'll check out that album though, i dunno what to do about the keyboard, maybe he hasnt thought this one through.

Fish 07-08-2006 01:37 AM

well i dunno.

MRDuCran 07-08-2006 07:03 AM

The song Are You Dead Yet doesn't feature any keyboards I don't think.

Other songs that include keyboards but aren't really essential would be:
Needled 24/7
Sixpounder
In Your Face

And I'll bet your friend can't play the solos accurately. :)

repcak 07-08-2006 07:25 AM

listen to In Your Face and then to Throes Of Rejection by Pantera - can you hear the similarities. i think bodom listened a lot to pantera while writing the songs to AYDY :D

+ The Sin Trade by Sinergy is very similar to Metal Dog by Paul Gilbert

MRDuCran 07-08-2006 07:35 AM

Yeah Metal Dog, or Technical Difficulties has the same rhythmic structure. Alexi lists Paul as one of his influences so it's probably not coincidental.

I listened to the Pantera song that was supposed to sound like In Your Face but it just didn't, in my opinion.

repcak 07-08-2006 01:43 PM

try 'use my third arm' from the same album

MRDuCran 07-08-2006 09:31 PM

Did that too before when I heard it mentioned.

repcak 07-09-2006 04:20 AM

and you don't hear any similarities?

i just realize that on every bodom album there is at least one song with the word "bodom" in it - so there is always one song on each album, which deals with the murder at lake bodom some 30yrs ago.

Something Wild: Lake Bodom
Hatebreeder: Children of Bodom / Silent Night, Bodom Night
FtR: Bodom after Midnight
HCDR: Bodom Beach Terror
AYDY: Bastards of Bodom

funny, isn't it?

Mr_Bounce 07-09-2006 06:40 AM

What an intriguing gimmick :p

@MRDuCran: Needled 24/7's keyboard solo is my favourite CoB key solo :'(

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 07-09-2006 08:01 AM

Well they are called children of bodom and there name came from those murders at lake bodom and such so it really doesnt suprise me at all.oh and plus the reaper is there logo thing :-)

That is a great keyboard solo by the way

MRDuCran 07-09-2006 04:05 PM
and you don't hear any similarities?
Not really. I didn't download it last night but I have done before and I didn't then.
@MRDuCran: Needled 24/7's keyboard solo is my favourite CoB key solo :'(
Well it's over a pretty cool riff, regardless of how little notes it has but as I said, I don't really think a keyboard is essential in that song but I'm just throwing suggestions at you, you don't have to do it of course.

Obviously, the newer stuff is more open for your situation due to the keys playing a smaller role and Hatebreeder/Follow the Reaper involving the most keyboards.

What about Bodom After Midnight, Lake Bodom, Warheart?

repcak 07-09-2006 05:11 PM

the similarities i mean is the intro-rhythm part. its the same. 16th notes with breaks (->offbeats).
i don't mean the whole song, only the intro-rhythm part!

blue3 07-10-2006 01:52 AM

Oh, yeah?! I have no idea what you guys are talking about.. but.. one day till I see Bodom! :)

Apocalyptic Raids 07-10-2006 04:41 AM

repcak 07-10-2006 05:06 AM

repcak 07-10-2006 05:10 AM

but its from AYDY, right?

repcak 07-10-2006 05:22 AM

repcak 07-10-2006 06:26 AM

i give up... i don't know the song...

repcak 07-10-2006 06:35 AM
