Why is audioscrobbler not opening up for me?

Liberi Fatali 08-10-2005 12:13 AM

Well the new audioscrobbler site should be up any hour now, so it probably has something to do with the new site.

I hate tracks that don't have proper ID3 tags. It means they never show up on my 'Scrobbler

Burdcheese 08-10-2005 06:25 AM

Hurrah - my mass CD buying has finally all arrived:

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese
Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
Rush in Rio
Foo Fighters - In Your Honour
Ozric Tentacles - Jurassic Shift
Mad Season - Above

That's a pretty decent haul.
A Change of Seasons would be much better without the covers, I think.
And you should tell me how good Jurassic Shift is.

The 14 minutes between The Pogues - Fiesta and Badly Drawn Boy - Once Around The Block were occupied by several playings of DJ Sammy's Heaven. Which refuses to show up giving me a stupid 'scrobbler.

Its the only proper Tentacles album I have (outside of their Best Of), so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it blew me away completely. I'm a total convert after listening to it (if I wasn't beforehand). I'd definately recommend it. I'll definately see if I can get some more Ozric stuff in one of my next bulk buys (though the costs of university might limit me - I'm about to get very poor I suspect)

I'm not sure I'd agree about a Change of Seasons. The title track is a masterpiece, and any other original stuff they put on there would be completely overshadowed. Covers were probably the right choice in light of that and they're pretty good, though they could have done with being longer - i.e. the full versions rather than being severely abbridged in the medleys.

Stoic 08-10-2005 07:18 AM

You can download a program that tags all of your music.

Google "music brains" or something like that.

I'd link you but I am on my way to work.

Endless Obsession 08-10-2005 11:36 AM

Metal Guitar killed the thread.

In other news I just picked up these cds-

Trivium - Ember to Inferno
Shadows Fall - Of One Blood
Unearth - The Strings of Conscience

They are all good, but none of them are as good as their later releases.

magicbus 08-10-2005 11:37 AM

Which is the newest Unearth album? I liked that one.

Moses 08-10-2005 11:42 AM

I just remembered who Trivium was yesterday when I saw a video. I was impressed like a year ago on Headbangers Ball but I didn't catch the name. I have heard songs after that and started downloading them. Yesterday I was on myspace and saw another video for them and remembered who it was. Anyway yeah.

Shadow's Fall's new stuff is better in my opinion.

flamesofbodom 08-10-2005 11:45 AM

Yeah but Lead Me Home is one of the best instrumentals ever.

The latest Unearth is The Oncoming Storm

That is an awesome insturmental I must say as well.

I am going to see Shadows Fall, Trivium, Mudvayne, In Flames and Ill Nino today, hurrah. And I am leaving when Disturbed hits the stage because they do not deserve to be headlining.

/hasn't been to a concert in over 6 months

Lord Abortion 08-10-2005 11:56 AM

trivium are a good band, surprisingly...
they played an excellent half-hour at download

Hmm, if it was a year a go then I dont know what video it was. There new cd "Ascendency" , which is the best, came out in March.

And yeah Shadows Fall's new cd "The War Within" is incredible. Its whats playing on my Ipod recently. I love it.

Unearths newest cd, my favorite, "The Oncoming Storm" is also incredible. Check out Zombie Autopilot, Black Hearts Now Reign, This Lying World, or The Great Dividers.

Understatement of the history of the earth. They are the least talented(I dont know anything about Ill Nino though) and most generic band on the bill by far. Thats ridiculous.

Moses 08-10-2005 12:02 PM

Only thing I don't like about Shadows Fall is Brians monotoneus yell.

If you want to hear the best new American band go to my Nevermore thread.

Brians voice is the weakest part of Shadows Fall, but I still love them. Jon Donais is one of my favorite guitar players, I wish his solos wwould be longer cause they amaze me every time.

They really aren't that new though...they are just finally getting some attention, which they have deserved for awhile now.

And yes, that is an understatement. I have also already seen Disturbed twice before, and they are nothing great...

Moses 08-10-2005 12:12 PM

Well that's what I meant by new. They started in 91 but they've finally started to rise up among these other metal bands. Also I'm not a huge fan of Disturbed but David Draiman is an excellent vocalist.

Thats so wierd because I always had a funny feeling about that guy. Especially the way he posted how nobody likes him and all that. It makes so much sense now.
I was out with my boyfriend, and I left an AIM away message on saying, "out" and had my cell phone number. I've put my cell number in my away message HUNDREDS of times without stupid people calling. But then I got this weird number, answered it, and it was him.
Im not trying to say what he did was okay, because it wasnt it was awful. But if you are going to leave your cell phone number out to the public, then you should be ready for calls like that.

Moses 08-10-2005 12:44 PM

I had a bad feeling about him too. What did he say when you picked up?
