ask BOO why they took all the cool stop/starts out of the new one
|
Haha I may just.
"So BOO. Your new album is pretty much a letdown. What's that all about?" it would be great |
it's a legit question, ASP are pretty good but I can't think of anything for them
|
well... The New Reign was pretty sweet but it lacked maturity; they just threw breakdown after breakdown together with some pinch harmonics and diminished arpeggios and called it an album. It worked, but in A Higher Place I feel like they actually tried to write songs while keeping as much of their ridiculous riffage as possible.
They didn't quite pull it off but I can see what they were trying to accomplish; and there's a few moments of greatness. Live Like I'm Real is actually a good song, especially the back half. iunno |
The thing that I liked about The New Reign is yeah it was breakdown heavy, the interplay between the drums and guitars was pretty cool. Those stop/starts and maybe it's just me were pretty sweet, and they pulled them off live
|
yeah I liked The New Reign, especially when it first came out. I'm gonna ask BOO why :43 of Elimination (track 2 off A Higher Place) is so embarrassingly bad.
|
ugh, my girlfriend likes BOO
|
you should dump her
Hey all.
For the radio station at my college, I'm interviewing Born of Osiris, After the Burial, and All Shall Perish in a few weeks... anyone have any questions they'd want answered specifically?
Ask All Shall Perish why Chris Storey left and how they're getting along without him. ask after the burial why their guitarists remain such bros even on stage oh and ask BOO how it feels to know that their touring guitarist Tosin Abasi can outplay pretty much anyone on the planet. also ask how it feels to be the only band with polar opposites on stage playing guitar |

|
sorry, new TRC kinda sux.
|
I havent heard it yet, cant until tonight, why is it bad?
|
super boring. the tempo is super slowed down as compared to older releases. guitarwork is prty simplistic. guys vocals are hella layered when they shouldnt be.
but the last 20secs are prty good. keep in mind, this is all from just one song. |
I've only heard one new song live a couple times and it sounded pretty techy and fast from what I can remember.
|
saw them live awhile back, they play their songs a lot faster live then in studio.
but you might be right. theres still hope. |
Of course there is, they arent one of my fave bands for no reason. It'd be hard to judge an album like Prey For Eyes just from their track It Came From Over There. I'll like it no matter what i reckon tho
|
I hope TRC's new thing is enjoyable, and Bleekill is just dumb (buta qt)
|
I'm pretty sure new TRC will be a sweet album, hopefully something that mixes Fused with Prey For Eyes.
|
a mix of all 3 i'd be happy wth
|
The strong elements of Clients were prevalent on Prey For Eyes.
I do like Clients but it is nowhere near the immense milestone of a genre-bending album Fused was. Prey For Eyes was sikasfvk, but lacked a little something (made up for it with humour and originality however) but Clients was just kinda...standard. Fixation on Plastics, Lay the Tarp, title track and a few others own hard though. Seen 'em 3 times and can't wait to see 'em when they're back on UK mainland again playing lots of the new stuff. |
Yeah Fused was so good, very grind orientated. one of my all times, and you are right Clients was a standard affair, but still good. Prey For Eyes was just so good weith its more dm style, i hope they stick to the dm/grind style.
|
I saw some great new songs live when I saw them play with Ted Maul in Camden a while back - songs were fast and tech as hell, really groovy. Kinda glad it is just Gunface doing all the guitars on his own now...
He is too good for human guitarists. |
Clients was muh fave! prolly biased because it's the first one I heard from them
|
That's a fair deal.
I heard Fused first, then Clients...ahh you can prob guess that they're not one of my top fave bands for no reason. Guy and co. just own hard. Especially live. And the fact that they're so chill and just funny as hell simply adds to their amicability factor. |
its all about Jar Full of Bunny Parts
|
Name sounds interesting. Elaborate good sir?
|
that they're not one of my top fave bands for no reason.
where have i read this before?
they arent one of my fave bands for no reason.
ahhh yes |
Name sounds interesting. Elaborate good sir?
its a demo track by The Red Chord its on my copy of fused together in revolving doors |
I like you mathjic because we have something in common - it's a good chord.
But honestly, they are one of my fave bands, I didn't mean to be tautological. And hxcplisit, I can't for the life of me ever get hold of anything demo-ish of TRC besides old demo versions of Like A Train Through A Pigeon and Breed the Cancer. |
