should do, i've never used impulses with guitar rig. i'd usually use them to replace the cab models on line6 stuff, as the cab modeling seems to be a big weak point in line6 tones. a decent pod patch and a solid impulse sounds pretty damn good and realistic imo.

You wanna throw down a lesson? I have no idea what I'm doing with these. I dl'd boogex and loaded some up but they sound like poo, unless I have to tweak my rigs for them

yeah, careful with boogex. it comes default with the drive (or crunch? i forget the name of the control) turned to like half way, and it just makes stuff sound bad, so turn it to 0. also that eq on the top cuts off the extreme highs and extreme lows already, i usually just leave it where its at, but if you want that high end sibilance or boomy bottom end you can turn off that eq.

the stock impulses in boogex are kinda crap, so load up your own inside of boogex.

as far as positioning your VST's go, if you're recording DI tracks, you'll first want your vst preamp (such as a vst version of guitar rig if thats what you're using) and then put boogex after it. that way, the DI signal feeds first into the preamp, then into the cab sim. feel free to places eq's/compressors/various effects anywhere throughout this chain.

if you're recording an alredy processed signal, like if you're using a pod, or are using guitar rig outside of your DAW, turn off the cab sim on your amp sim (it should sound fizzy and gross now) and then record using that tone. next, apply boogex in the VST bay of that channel, and it should sound good, like a real amp, when you play it back.

alternatively, you could set your DAW to monitor or whatever the setting is called, that way you get to play with the processed signal of all the VST's active, but unless you've got one bad mother****er of a computer, theres gonna be a good bit of latency, and that will make it really hard to record.

Yea it's called drive, turned that down and I'm using pre cab, post cab was pooing it. I threw in a mesa 4x12, that was the best I could find quickly, they're near the top anyways. I only put boogex on the right track cause I didn't have GR loaded on the other. Don't know what happened to it, but now I'm trying to keep it on every track so I can tweak later.

I just build this comp so it's pretty good :) I have guitar rig, superior drummer, reason and other vsts running and I can still monitor

right track seems to have some top end fizziness that the left track doesn't have, but the right track seems to be more full or open or something. pretty cool song, nice and groovy and ambient.

my friend has one in his carvin.

though the bottlecap + electrical tape rig we've got going in his other guitar seems to work just as good at making the floyd not move. given, with that setup you can't move the trem ever.

probably my favorite album right now, but thats probably just cos its new. i think its better than colors, but probably about as good as their older stuff. silent circus is still my favorite album.

i can semi-relate, i hated btbam when i first listened to them (thanks miek) but after a while, i listened to them again and i started liking them. maybe cos i wasnt really into heavy stuff when i first listened to them iuno

for some reason when I put it in Winamp it decided its own order... all I know is I listened to "Swim to the moon" first and then "Mirriors". After that I just decided to call it a day.
