Possibly Type O Negative as well.

Recommend me some Skid Row?

comptonassrobert 09-13-2005 10:35 PM

I need 10 of the angriest yet still listenable songs you guys could give me. I'm making a mix for my friend who listens to stuff like Chevelle and some other like-stuff, but now he's looking for some angry/heavier songs and he's come to me because i have a bigger musical taste/library than him. Ive got Pantera-Domination, 5 Minutes Alone and Mouth For War. some In Flames, some As I Lay Dying, and some Hatebreed. any suggestions??

MAthiAS 09-13-2005 11:09 PM

What do you mean by 'still listenable'?

comptonassrobert 09-13-2005 11:13 PM
What do you mean by 'still listenable'?
Well he's a newbie to the heavier music, so things like, lets say, Cannibal Corpse and the like would be "unlistenable"

Exodus - Bonded By Blood
Meshuggah - Future Breed Machine
Kreator - When The Sun Burns Red
Behemoth - Demigod
Overkill - I Hate
Nevermore - The River Dragon Has Come

Can someone recommend me some good Ulver.

ArcLite 09-16-2005 09:33 AM

For their folkier (real word?) sound I like Kveldssanger, and for the trip-hop era I like Perdition City.

the2stranger 09-16-2005 11:37 AM

for Ulver electronica style I prefer the marriage of heaven and hell to perdition city

Angry?

Faith No More - Jizzlobber,
Nirvana - Tourettes,
Napalm Death - Messiah (Hellhammer),
Nunslaughter - Mother, ****, Whore.

They're angry, not neccesarilly amazing heavy, but they should do. I resent the fact that you refer to heavier music as "Unlistenable".

Matas 09-16-2005 01:58 PM

I dont know why i put it off for so long, but I bought Kreator's most recent cd 2 weeks ago... Enemy of God, its real thrash metal, definately one of the ''must buy'' albums of the year.

uh...I dont feel like listing every single scandianavian band I like so I'd say take a look at this thread - if not already - http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=391010

This thread is not about randomly recommending music, please read the first post.

Congratulations 09-16-2005 05:29 PM

I would like to ask for some doom metal. I downloaded some Mourning Beloveth off of that thread awhile ago. I really liked it and I want some more. However, I am really over my head.

Bartender 09-16-2005 05:31 PM

I think your best bet would be to go to this thread, and listen to Jondur, since he mostly talks about doom rather than stoner.

what would amon amarth be classified as?

Viking Metal.

BoboTheRagingHobo 09-16-2005 11:20 PM
Viking Metal.
Viking metal/melodic death

Viking metal describes bands that have Norse myth and history related lyrics to them, but that does not describe their sound. There is viking metal that sounds like folk music, power metal and black metal as well etc etc...

Jasarn 09-16-2005 11:51 PM

Some Bathory are viking.

You could also go with early Enslaved, Borknager (Mix of viking), Einhejer, Morrigan and Moonsorrow.

Dude3 09-17-2005 11:44 AM

What Pelican album do you suggest I get? I've been leaning on the newer one, but I'm not totally decided yet.

Daven 09-17-2005 01:02 PM

Can you recommend some songs by Borknagar or Bathory?
