yeah to be honest i've only heard reload like 5 times i need to hear it more, i love the old albums so much that i listen to them a lot more

Scotti912 04-30-2004 03:46 AM

I'm a newcomer here So bare with me. I just wanted to say that I'm into Metallica very much but I also like GnR, SRV, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Pink Floyd(my favorite band) anything that involves Slash, and any thing that falls into the previous stuff.
I play guitar and am somewhat of a great player in my own right.

My fav songs of Metallica are

Orion
To Live is To Die
Fixxxer
Where the Wild Things Are
Hit the lights
Eye of the Beholder
Dyers Eve

I love every album except St. Anger but that doesnt mean I dont like Metallica any more I am still awaiting another album and if it is similar to St. Anger (hopefully not) I will still buy it to have.

But My favorite albums are

Master of Puppets and Reload

I know I might get bashed for liking Reload so much but Its my type of music that I like to play is moody atmospheric like trippy (somewhat) music.

SlaveToTheGrind 04-30-2004 07:58 AM

you like reload? you'll get smashed :smash: :smash:

i can't believe that everyone likes orion so much. maybe i should listen to it one more time..

I felt that way about it to untill I heard it a few more times.

SlaveToTheGrind 04-30-2004 09:18 AM

one minute ago i listened to it again.. but i still don't like it. it's so boring und too melodic in the middle part.. but that's just my opinion ;)

Photophobic 04-30-2004 09:34 AM

Yeah, because if there's one thing early Metallica suffered from it was being too bloody melodic. :)

DisposableHeroes 04-30-2004 09:38 AM
I think its this next album (after st. anger) and they'll call it a day.
really? I think (hopefully) they've got a good while, i mean look at iron maiden ;)

Kickflip_Burrito 04-30-2004 09:38 AM
I believe Met and Liz are the only two bands that have performed it.
Apparently, Grateful Dead have covered it too, i saw a tab of it on mxtabs.net/basstabs

Photophobic 04-30-2004 10:34 AM

-=[PaRa]NoIr=- 05-03-2004 02:00 AM

Metallica's bores me.

Burdcheese 05-03-2004 03:18 AM

Drumface_Rob 05-03-2004 03:23 AM

Hey has anyone seen the mighty Metallica live? I saw them at reading festival (UK) in August 2003. And i am hopefully goin to see them at download festival (UK) in June 2004. They kicked *** at reading, they were on for over 2 hours. On their last song which was enter sandman i got dehitrated and nearly blacked out! Shame really.

Squirrel 05-03-2004 03:34 AM

Yes i've seen them live - they played for 2 hours and 45 mins.

SlaveToTheGrind 05-03-2004 12:40 PM
^^I suspect this is the wrong thread for you then...
Abbath 05-03-2004 01:11 PM

Saw metallica a roskilde last year and in Oslo (norway) in december. Both shows gave me a memory I will never forget. They kick *** live!!! I nearly fainted in Oslo because i was in the front and I a quite small guy (170cm) and a lot off people were pushing...hard...bastards...

DisposableHeroes 05-03-2004 01:16 PM

i hope they play damage, inc at download. Blood follows and we'll make sure, life ain't for you and we're the cure

Squirrel 05-03-2004 02:04 PM

TheZenBassist 05-03-2004 07:26 PM

Oooooh.... Let's all talk about a cliche heavy metal burnout band who have a crap rhythm section, flatout irritating vocals and raunchy guitars... Could someone tell me again why this thread exists?

Hitroshimite 05-03-2004 07:32 PM
Oooooh.... Let's all talk about a cliche heavy metal burnout band who have a crap rhythm section, flatout irritating vocals and raunchy guitars... Could someone tell me again why this thread exists?
Because you touch yourself at night.

Anyways, I'm seeing Metallica next October (I know, it's quite a ways off, still…), and I'm really looking forward to it. From what I've heard, they put on one hell of a live show.

gernm17 05-03-2004 08:44 PM

can anyone tell me what the frayed ends of sanity lyrics are about

i've never paid attention but since somebody said it had good lyrics can anyone tell me,i'm just getting into that song
