The thing about the album is that music stores will probably get it way late, like what happened with the TLS EP. They still don't stock the DVD anywhere, which I also plan to get. The only place I'd look when the album comes out is Barnes, Amazon or Best Buy.

I already filled out all the information to pre order the single from Spinefarm. Now, all that's missing is the consent and card of the 'rent. :thumb:

EDIT: I gotta go, I'm starting to feel worse and quite woozy. I'll keep tabs on the cover for you guys, and will post the link as soon as I get it. Providing I get it.

What country are you from? TL&S was released much later in the US than in other countries, and I think the DVD version was never released in America.

haha. but ya know. the goverment has too much power. the goverment controlled "systembolaget" is the only shop allowed to sell alcohol product over 3.5% alc. vol. so they can charge any prices they want to. but now cos of this nice EU people goes to denmark or germany to buy alcohol cos it's so much cheaper there. haha!!!

IheartSP 08-04-2005 05:28 PM

Yeah the government can be a bit annoying in some countries, but I'm sure htey aren't as big of jerks as the U.S. government, who I fear will someday get us all killed. Plus, you have good music over there.

haha yeah.. best swedish metal bands IMO are In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Hammerfall, Yngwie Malmsteen (is he metal? but anyways)...

dest. Chaos 08-04-2005 05:41 PM

but you know in denmark it's 16 yrs on everything!!!!(alcohol, tobacco) but in sweden it's 18 on tobacco, any alcohol at pubs, bars, restaurants (if they have permission, which most have, they are allowed to seel all alcohol products."systembolaget" is still the only SHOP where you can buy over 3.5% alc.),and you must 20 to buy at "systembolaget"...

At least we got In Your Face. I'm glad. I don't like buying an album if I haven't heard anything off it. Even if it is Bodom; I might've been too shocked.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-04-2005 06:27 PM

Don't know. I just started using MegaUpload because it tells you how much longer until it's done. :thumb: My kind of program.

dest. Chaos 08-04-2005 06:31 PM

hxxp.......... when someone links a link with hxxp I just change it to http and it works.......btw the song was really good

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:32 PM

I'm listening to In Your Face again. I think the part that bothers me most is the bridge that is those 4 quarter note powerchords. It sounds really stupidly heavy, it reminds me a lot of metalcore with the unneccessarily heavy progression. The breakdowns before the chorus remind me of metalcore a lot too. The chorus is ok, but the keyboard there and the intro kind of sounds industrial. The keyboard on HCDR was at least powermetal, but it seems to have become more industrial now. I don't mind the keyboard solo that much, but the guitar solo is no good. The riff after the solos isn't too bad. I stil have trouble enjoying the song overall because I hate way more parts than I like. The vocals especially bother me, they have a big metalcore vibe.

When I say metalcore people yell at me but I mean that in a very literal sense. Everything in this song that I call metalcore I mean it has a big hardcore punk influence. Like it or not, all NWOAHM does, thus I call it all metalcore.

I like the guitar solo.....

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:40 PM
I like the guitar solo.....
As far as Alexi goes it was a dissapointment.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-04-2005 06:41 PM

I disagree, SP. I don't think it's metalcore. It's clearly still Bodom, in my opinion. The keyboards, the guitar runs and the harmonization during the chorus of the guitar and keyboards. Not to mention Jaska does a great job. The only thing I disliked slightly about the song was the vocals.

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:43 PM

The keyboards had some Bodom sound but clearly were different than before, it never had an industrial vibe. I wouldn't expect Jaska to change anything, it'd be odd for the drummer to play differently, he usually just sticks to the double bass. I still don't see how you can deny the metalcore sound, not 1 person has agreed with me on this but it sounds so clear to me. Even HCDR sounded slightly metalcore to me.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-04-2005 06:44 PM

Maybe because when I think of metalcore, I think of Killswitch Engage; the only metalcore band I like. You can't be saying that In Your Face sounds like anything Killswitch has done...

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:48 PM

I'm not sure what band I'm saying it sounds like becuase I have an idea of what metalcore sounds lik ein a very broad sense, not as a band specifically. I'll go look at some As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage tabs to see if I can find what I'm trying to say.

dest. Chaos 08-04-2005 06:52 PM

Do you think TLS sounds metalcore too?

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:52 PM

Slightly, but not nearly as much as In Your Face. TLS sounds like it could go on HCDR.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-04-2005 06:53 PM
Do you think TLS sounds metalcore too?
 I hope not!

EDIT:

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:53 PM

The intro sounds a bit metalcore. A lot of metalcore bands repeat 1 note like that.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-04-2005 06:54 PM

Oy vay. Alright. I'm done talking about what genre Children of Bodom is. I still love em, and I support whatever they're doing. To each her own, I guess.

EDIT: Goodnight, guys.

IheartSP 08-04-2005 06:55 PM

I've never been anything but pro-melody, and the direction Bodom is going in is the exact opposite.

dest. Chaos 08-04-2005 07:01 PM

well then it might be just this song which is "metalcorish". if now TLS isn't at all as much as IYF. they're both on the new album.....

IheartSP 08-04-2005 07:04 PM

Well if all the songs on the album are like TLS then I think Alexi would be lying when he said this wasnt going to be another HCDR.

Shadows 08-04-2005 07:08 PM

So far, not only does In Your Face not sound metalcore at all, but it also sounds nothing like HCDR. I think IYF is very melodic thanks to Janne. Hardly opposite of pro-melody.
