SkaRobotArmy 08-27-2007 03:24 PM

yea for sure, that was a sweaty *** room though, even the floor was slippy.

Aficionado 08-27-2007 03:30 PM

I just wish they played Here's to Life and Dear Sergio. That would make it even better.

sax_kid 08-27-2007 03:58 PM

Man i saw them a couple days ago in montreal and it was amazing

Danger Bird 08-27-2007 03:59 PM

So they're going to do another tour now, right? Because they skipped Seattle

Henrik 08-27-2007 04:06 PM

I don't think I've ever heard someone from here saying that they'd experienced a bad Streetlight show. Everyone says that they are freaking awesome all the time.

I wanna see them too!!! I've decided that if they come to either northern Germany or anywhere in Sweden I will take the train or hitchhike or something like that.

Aficionado 08-27-2007 04:56 PM

You never know, maybe the release of a new album will mean international dates? You never know.

Jessizzle 08-27-2007 05:22 PM

they did play heres to life, as the encore!

Aficionado 08-27-2007 05:25 PM

LOL, did they? Damnit, I left right after The Big Sleep as my ride was leaving.

Jessizzle 08-27-2007 05:27 PM

that was like.. in the middle of the set i swear... or was that the third last song? i dont remember.

Aficionado 08-27-2007 05:50 PM

The big sleep was the last song.

Jessizzle 08-27-2007 05:51 PM

oh tru, there was an encore, it was the best song..

i didnt think they would do one, but the crowd was chanting so loud, they had to..

Catchthe22 08-27-2007 06:28 PM

It is my experience, that bands usually like doing encores if they are the last set of the night.

Kithkin 08-27-2007 07:16 PM

Opening bands that destroy sometimes do it too.

The Suburban Legends did an encore when they opened for Reel Big Fish when I saw them... 3 years ago? They blew RBF out of the water. This was back when Rump Shaker had just come out.

SkaRobotArmy 08-27-2007 08:18 PM

yea, even when they came with RBF people were chanting for encore but they couldn't cause of time.

they said they are coming to europe after the album comes out.

Danger Bird 08-27-2007 09:16 PM

Okay, but, there's supposed to be another US Streetlight tour, right?

SkaRobotArmy 08-27-2007 09:25 PM

he said see you all next summer i think. so they are doing europe real soon probly with a north american tour in support of the album.

DougJI 08-28-2007 12:29 AM
Doug where did you end up going, i was with the bassist from TBMH for almost all of SLM, now where were YOU?
I got ****ing rocked right from the beginning and went to the left, I ended up next to kalnoky and 3 songs later i got shoved into the skanking circle and ended up by matt steward before making it back into the centre just to the right of kalnoky. I kept my eyes open for you but you're so damn short.
DougJI, were you the kid who was suppose to crowd surf throughout the whole song while they played A moment of Violence?
No, I was the huge fat kid with one checkered shoe skanking next to tomas for like 5 seconds during Here's to life (which was the encore incidentally...) and then stage dove and ****ing died.

Failing Flailing was probably the best song of the night. I felt so ****ing cool when they played Watch it Crash and I knew all the words, Mike Brown (their bari-sax player) was like =O when he saw me singing all the words hahaha.

They played everything off of Everything Goes Numb except The Saddest Song, and they played Watch it Crash and Impressed, and there was 2 horn interlude solo jiggers. Personally I thought their worst song of the night was either We Are The Few or Point/Keasbey/Counterpoint. I didn't even realize what song they were playing till like a minute into We Are The Few.

Henrik 08-28-2007 06:57 AM

What is Watch it Crash? A new song I haven't heard?

Aficionado 08-28-2007 11:52 AM

Man I wish I was there for Here's To Life, why did I leave? Personally, I think they did A moment of silence very poorly. Oh and I saw when Mike Brown pointed at you, I think I was 2 rows behind you. Some asshole punk kept on pushing me, I yelled at him.

Jessizzle 08-28-2007 12:23 PM

a moment of silence is my favourite song..

and, how are you the ONE person i didnt see, honestly, i saw everyone except you..

DougJI 08-28-2007 04:38 PM

Aficionado 08-28-2007 05:11 PM

Don't have facebook anymore. I should really make an account JUST to view **** people send me through facebook.

SkaRobotArmy 08-28-2007 08:22 PM

were you in that clip? thats super good quality, what did you record that with?

i love that guitar, its got such a great ska tone but sounds so heavy and awesome when he wants it to.

ZaaR 08-28-2007 08:50 PM

i saw streetlight 2 nights ago. it was a really awesome show. definately the best i've seen in a while. i was angry that they didn't bother to play the saddest song.

DougJI 08-28-2007 08:54 PM

I didnt record the video, it was posted in the group im in. You can see where Matt (bari sax) points at me at about 1:35-1:45 ish.

Im planning on buying his old guitar, (Ibanez AS83) and seeing if I can make it sound as sick as he gets his to.

SkaRobotArmy 08-28-2007 09:31 PM

i wish, but i bought an SG a few months back so i'm done with guitars for a while...
yea, i really really like saddest song but oh well. can't win 'em all.

what happens when you 'add an application' to your facebook, i just got mine sunday and am unfamiliar with it.

Jessizzle 08-29-2007 07:16 AM

thoes are the best videos iv seen yet, and you can see how packed the opera house was, and you can see how much everyone sucked at crowd surfing.

Aficionado 08-29-2007 09:14 AM
everyone sucked at crowd surfing
This is truth.

Catchthe22 08-29-2007 09:55 AM

You get to that screen where there are 6 or so check boxes. Since it is video application you probably only want the first box checked (access my personal information). That basically means you can watch videos on facebook but your actual profile page wont change or give any clues that you have the application. Other applications are designed to be put on your profile page so for those ones you will want to check some of the other boxes.

Crowd surfing is for suckers anyways.

Catchthe22 08-29-2007 11:52 AM

I got kicked in the face at the RBF/LTJ/SM/AAA show I went to by a crowd surfer and got my 2nd bloody nose for the night. I couldnt get the blood stain completely out of my shirt that I got from Amsterdam :(

Henrik 08-29-2007 11:57 AM

Crowd Surfing can be very fun, but you know people have to know how to do it, when to do it and how often they should do it.
Too much crowd surfing at ska shows mostly sucks.

Aficionado 08-29-2007 12:04 PM

Too much moshing at a ska show sucks, thats what pissed me off about the show. Your not supposed to mosh. You're supposed to skank.

Cliche 08-29-2007 02:07 PM

I've been kicked in the face from surfers way too many times.

Henrik 08-29-2007 03:22 PM
Too much moshing at a ska show sucks, thats what pissed me off about the show. Your not supposed to mosh. You're supposed to skank.
This is very correct.
The moshing often starts at parts of some 3rd wave songs where they play powerchords instead of upbeats.

Jessizzle 08-29-2007 03:41 PM

i got punched in the face during the snips set, i think i was the only girl in the pit for awhile for a reason.

SkaRobotArmy 08-29-2007 05:06 PM

yea, but sometimes it is more fun to skank your way through the pit. but i mean, people can do whatever they feel like and like henrik said, with 3rd wave, theres usually heavier moshable parts too.

Aficionado 08-29-2007 06:11 PM

The snips SUCKED balls!

Henrik 08-31-2007 10:02 AM

Snippets of new SM songs!!!!!

http://www.streetlightmanifesto.com
