 that's from the toughest metallica solo thread ;)

DisposableHeroes 06-13-2004 08:16 AM

slightly off topic here, but on what slayer album do you think dave lombardo's drumming is at its best? For me its south of heaven

i prefer seasons in the abyss to south of heaven but there both amazing and dave is brillaint on all albums

DisposableHeroes 06-13-2004 08:21 AM

Dave is one hell of a drummer

DimebagDarrell 06-13-2004 08:23 AM
Dave is one hell of a drummer
definatly one of the best in metal history to go a step further

DisposableHeroes 06-13-2004 08:30 AM

I think he and charlie benante were the greatest of the big four drum-wise

Kreator 06-13-2004 08:32 AM

who are the other 2 of the big four?

sensitiveorgan00 06-13-2004 08:41 AM

Megadeth and Metallica.

Kreator 06-13-2004 08:46 AM

lars ulrich? no..

Bartender 06-13-2004 09:04 AM

"The Big Four, drum-wise" just means the drumming of the Big Four thrash bands, not the top four drummers in thrash.

Kreator 06-13-2004 09:06 AM

well then...

LordDargon 06-13-2004 02:28 PM

Top 4 drummers in Thrash:

Hoglan
Lombardo
Benante
Bostaph

Toozey 06-13-2004 02:36 PM

I cant argue with that.

Corporal Compendia 06-13-2004 04:52 PM

I can.

For the most part I agree, but not ****in' Benante. I'd replace him with Jon Allen... and you know... probably Bostaph with Igor Cavelera.

So mine would look more like...

Jon Allen
Gene Hoglan
Dave Lombardo
Igor Cavelera

Destruct 06-13-2004 04:58 PM

I'd say the solo to "The Shortest Straw" is the hardest, I still have trouble with it. :upset:

Griffin_Page 06-13-2004 05:32 PM

Kreator are back, Exodus are back, Death Angel are back, Sodom are back, Megadeth are back... now we need some Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer thrash again.

LordDargon 06-13-2004 06:24 PM

Yeah, well you have to argue with everything so stfu :)

Griffin: It sounds like Exodus are half-back. I can't comment on Death Angel. Sodom are back? I didn't know, I'll have to check it out.

And DFA should be back in a month or so.

DARKNESS RETURNS \m/
(that's the name of the new album)

Kickass man, I've got to check out that album. I wish I could get a ****ing band together out here... none of you live near Needles, CA, right?

superpeer 06-14-2004 03:49 AM

Time to bump the thrash.

Kreator 06-14-2004 06:40 AM

DisposableHeroes 06-14-2004 10:53 AM

does leave scars have the promise of agony on it?

LordDargon 06-14-2004 10:56 AM

yes. You have heard Darkness Descends?

superpeer 06-14-2004 10:58 AM

Have you seen the allmusic.com rating for darkness descends, Dargon?

Or read the review?

DisposableHeroes 06-14-2004 10:58 AM

yup, well most of it (to dargon)

DimebagDarrell 06-14-2004 10:59 AM

yes it does have it on
yes i have heard darkness descends

LordDargon 06-14-2004 11:00 AM

Yeah, I boycotted the site and posted in here for everyone to flood them with hate mail unfortunately I couldn't find an adress to e-mail them at. :(

superpeer 06-14-2004 11:09 AM

Heh, I usually agree with their ratings though.

It can be useful, I'm on that site a lot.

LordDargon 06-14-2004 12:15 PM

I disagree with nearly every single one of their stupid bullsh.it ratings. The only album they got right was the 5/5 on Reign in Blood. They are always like "this album is essential" and then they give it a 3/5. Huh?

Ratmevilempire 06-14-2004 12:21 PM
i have seen both i prefer waynes world its exellent :thumb: anyone seen airheads

n.p. Megadeth 99 ways to die
I saw airheads, that movie ****in owned. If it was any better it would be Waynes World and if Waynes World was any better it would be Spinal Tap(the best metal movie ever) :thumb:
Yeah, well you have to argue with everything so stfu :)
If you didn't put that pile of puke Benante in there, I wouldn't have argued! But noooo! You just had to go and do that didn't you?

Even when Charrrrrlie beats the beats that beat your beat, and the only thing harder is the smell of his feet, he's not beating much.

sensitiveorgan00 06-14-2004 09:11 PM

I just came back from my school's battle of teh bands. It went pretty well. My band was teh only metal band there, too bad we didn't win. :p
We played two covers and a original. Covers being Symptom of teh Universe and TORMENTOR by Slayer. \m/ Good night, I'm going to bed.

manuscriptreplica 06-15-2004 12:07 AM

Finally got a hold of None so Vile... I suggest you all get it.

PS I'm back

The fact that you don't like Anthrax may be a key decider in that. Charlie IS a good Drummer....his early work in Anthrax (Fistful Of Metal being Key!) and also his work in S.O.D. proves that.
