i finally listened to Rites of Spring and Embrace, theyre both really good, but moss icon is so much better

what defines the difference between emo and screamo? Or do you consider the classifications to be exactly the same?

Screamo has a grindy influence. Pretty simple, really. It's better to just say emo or hardcore.

not all screamo is grindy though. like there's some progressive screamo (that indie scenesters tag as post-rock) like Envy and Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson.

but both emo and screamo has evolved a lot. there's a difference between I Would Set Myself on Fire for You and uh Swing Kids, just like there's a difference between Rites of Spring and Mineral. but still there's no denying that the first two are screamo and the latter two emo.

You mean like, post-rock influenced screamo like Envy and Score One For Safety?

I can see interchanging that stuff with post-rock TO BE HONEST.

screamo's a pretty valid term, its no worse than melodic death or future trance.
