So my alarm went off for school today, and I got up and got dressed, ate breakfast, and then opened the front door.... the street was covered in snow... I felt dumb, but hey, I slepped in :).
|
I'm having a good snowday. I had my sterio set to wake me up to the sounds of Amon Amarth's Victorious march.
|
I'm having an ok snow day. It's boring but I'm listening to good music extremely loud and playing guitar extremely loud along
NP: Black Sheep - SA |
I'm about to go start drinking, so my mediocre snow day is going to get better. Right now I'm writing a college essay about the Who.
|
I have to shovel some old guy's driveway. He's paying me, but I'm still not in the best of moods.
At least I got a day off, which I plan to spen the rest of learning an Arch Enemy song. |
Drinking - sounds good
Shoveling- sounds bad Essay about the Who- not too bad WP: 2 Minutes to Midnight - Iron Maiden NP: Cryin' - Joe Satriani Jelle I never realized how enormous that avatar is... |

I need more In Flames. I've only got one of their songs, any album recommendations? |
Well, stories are good, yeah. But even if the author didn't intend something, why wouldn't you be allowed to see it? It's like a painting, the painter makes it, but a lot of people see different things in it. Why not interpret things differently in novels?
That's the beauty of art, my man. :p
It my eyes, it stops being art when it crosses into the realm of the pretentious. Yes, some films are inherently artistic. And people can get different messages from them. But when people start inserting very contrived meanings into a piece of art, it's just ridiculous. Almost as bad is when people reference the meanings in art which should be clear as if they are privy to some sort of arcane information. "I don't know about you, but when I read 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker, I noticed a dramatic, yet subtle tapestry of sexual overtones in the prose." "No shiit, really?" There's a difference between art and unadulterated pretense. |
My wake up call is just the annoying alarm
uur-ur--urr-uur!! after that it's some metal most of the time \m/ |
My wake up call is just the annoying alarm
uur-ur--urr-uur!!
Same here. I normally sleep through it though and in the end it wakes up my parents who come and get me up. |
True. I think its one of those cases we're talking about where there is that depth in it, but there are some songs/books/paintings where it seems the meanings are forced. The user title is about suicide, but writtin because of the theft. It's not necessarily supposed to be anything else but the feeling of suicide. I just disagree with literary scholars that seem to force a lot of ideas into books that weren't necessarily supposed to be there, but for all I know maybe they were supposed to be there. Maybe William Golding meant for Piggy's death to be the death and collapse of society, who knows.
Personally, I find it very credible. Piggy was a fat kid, he was different, the "normal" ones bullied him around until it killed him. I don't think that's that far fetched. I'm gonna drink gin at the christmas market, I'll be back later, if I'm sober enough. I'd love to do some more literature talk then. :p (Hence the half-assed response) |
Yeah, sorry about that. My connection died for a while, so I couldn't send you more stuff. Did Bartender send you some more stuff?
(Searched for my name) NP: Skid Row - Monkey Business
yeh he sent me a load more songs :) woo i'm going out for dinner tonight, seeing as my sort-of g/f has stopped communicating with me (she basically hung up on me last time i rang her) she can go screw herself. she was meant to be coming to this meal tonight with all the people from the pub, but seeing as who was going to go with me instead is ill i'm gonna have to take my sister ( ) and i don't really get on with her. but, seeing as the meal's all paid for, i'm not wasting the money. anyway, this is the first time i've been on mx for more than 30 seconds without it screwing up and crashing, which is quite nice. WP: Metallica - Enter Sandman (live) NP: Metallica - Creeping Death (live) /is listening to Live Shít: Binge and Purge. you gotta love the "Die, Die, Die, Die" chant in the middle of this song. I agree now that you mention it, it's a pretty credible one.
NP: Aces High |
wow, i just checked my bank balance online, £240 went in today :) that means my EMA is going through now, so that's a solid £20 a week just for going to school :).

Where the hell is Med! I have to tell him about the essay I need to write about my IR class for part of the final grade and how hilarious the topic is.
Is his computer still broken, or what? :( |
I don't know, is his computer still broken? What's the topic?

Reckoning Night has nearly finished for me now. :p

I GOT IT! It still awful. I've tried RapidShare 100 times and this is the first time I've gotten it to work. |
i usually can but it will give me that message on occasion. it's a bad system but people use it because there's no download or time limit like yousendit.
