I really don't know how that happens but I guess I'm A.D.D. because I keep changing subjects on myself...
bout your name...my friend is getting an rr3....cant wait till he lets me play it :D kinda off subject but oh well

Shadows 07-18-2005 07:18 PM
You do realize you're paying at least 1000 extra for the name, right?

You could get the same guitar, without the signature, for a LOT less.
More like $2000. If it didn't have Alexi's name on it, NO ONE would buy it. I still miss the beauty of his old Jacksons. :upset:

IheartSP 07-18-2005 07:18 PM

Jaska's last name is the only one I never remember because its so hard to spell. The rest I have an easy time with, but I don't know Henkka's real last name, Blacksmith is a nickname.

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:18 PM

I know I have a RR3 but Id be the only metal head on the block to own one.

Hells Bells 07-18-2005 07:19 PM
lol shadows fallen that actually made me laugh.

Personally I hate female singers in metal. From what I have heard of Nightwish, Sinergy, and Dark Moor, it really just isn't my thing.
From the bands you listed, it sounds like it's the clean/operatic female vocals that bug you. Try Arch Enemy, Angela Gassow's vocals are awesome (she growls by the way), good enunciation and a lot of variation. When I first heard her, it's hard to decribe the shock of finding out THAT was coming from a chick :amaze:

IheartSP 07-18-2005 07:19 PM

The ESP Alexi Signature is worth less than $700 if you ask me, but over $2000? Ridiculous! There are so many better guitars for such a lower price.

I personally like my Squier Fat Strat...the tone on that thing is SWEET.

However, I love my Heritage Les Paul even more...that thing has the fattest tone I've ever heard on a guitar.

be a lot easier to buy a black rhoads and put the pinstripe and wildchild sticker on yourself...but then theres still the gold hardware...but still overall would basically be the same guitar for a lot less...........or possibly i have no idea what im talking about

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:20 PM

COB went from Jackson to ESP b/c Jackson ripped them off

I couldn't believe what a ripoff that guitar is. I'm still having trouble believing Alexi would play something like that. I'd be willing to bet that my guitar is better, and I payed around $800 for it.

In case you couldn't tell, I really hate his signature series.
COB went from Jackson to ESP b/c Jackson ripped them off
Alexi went from Jackson to ESP because his Jacksons were stolen on tour and ESP offered him a better deal.

IheartSP 07-18-2005 07:21 PM

I know Arch Enemy, and I say that doesn't count because if no one ever told me it was a girl I probably wouldn't have figured it out for a long time. Personally if someone is doing harsh vocals or growling it's really all kind of the same. Well growling I like some better than others but when it comes to harsh vocals like Bodom, Wintersun, Norther, their vocals all sound extremely similar.

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:21 PM

I wouldn't mind having the ESP bass that blacksmith plays and just slap a COBHC sticker on it

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:23 PM

The Jackson LL Sig was never played by any members.

Check out the RR5 (I would KILL for one). It's the excact same thing as Alexi's. Gold hardware and everything. Just put a Wildchild sticker on it and there you go.

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:23 PM

I'm not a real big fender fan but I think when Fender bought Jackson in 02 they started to produce better jacksons

Alexi also plays the White RR3 with black pinstripes

i thought the rr5 was a string thru...also though it had a little triangular tailpiece...at least it did in my music123 magazine

Shadows 07-18-2005 07:25 PM

Fender bought out Jackson and Jacksons have been consistently downhill ever since. Even cheap Jacksons back in the day were excellent instruments, but now even the expensive ones will have a blatant lack of craftsmanship. But that doesn't mean they don't own every other brand of guitar out there right now.

The only diff between RR3 and 5 is the Floyd Rose
I'm not a real big fender fan but I think when Fender bought Jackson in 02 they started to produce better jacksons
That's cause Fender continually puts out quality guitars.

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:26 PM

still i wouldn't give up my 87' Jackson Dinky for anything

Forlorn Hope 07-18-2005 07:27 PM
The only diff between RR3 and 5 is the Floyd Rose
the rr3 has a metal pickguard too and i dont think the rr5 has one...i may be wrong

JacksonRR3guy 07-18-2005 07:27 PM

I just don't like that fender laquers the necks of the strats and teles

Floyd Roses are a pain in the ass. The locking keeps the guitar in tune forever, but it's such a hassle to downtune.

ur right

Shattered_Future 07-18-2005 07:28 PM

I love the body style of the Fender Stratocasters though.

You can't get a better body style than that...its easy to handle and lightweight.

Henri's (his real name, Henkka's just a nickname too) is Seppala, it means Blacksmith in english. You can get this kind of info from http://www.endlesswar.net/SOB/index.php aka scythesofbodom.com, it's been mentioned in this thread.

my dinky has a cheap floyd rose proto that you don't have to cut off the beads on the strings

Shadows 07-18-2005 07:28 PM

I think Fender wins the award for putting out the largest number of disgustingly ugly guitars.

Shattered_Future 07-18-2005 07:29 PM
I think Fender wins the award for putting out the largest number of disgustingly ugly guitars.
Take that back!

Telecasters are extremely ugly, but the rest aren't all that bad...

Anyway, it's the hardware that counts, and Fenders have great hardware.
