the entire song is just awesome.
azbassman: could you post your demon of the fall version once you're done?
that was the song, not the live version |
hey guys, havent been in here in a while. Any news on the new album?
|
I hear its going to kick ***.
|
i gathered that, all their stuff does
|
no news as far as I know.
I do wonder if their sound will be even more 'perrfect'. as they have entered the studios when they had everything written. on their older albums they had vague ideas, but no complete songs when they entered the studio. |
it should be interesting how it comes out. I hope to see some badass riffing and some beautiful acoustic tracks
|
I wanna see if Mikeal has grown vocally.
cause it's just going upwards. esp. his growling, I like his deliverance(album) style growling so much. his growls get deeper and more badass all the time |
I don't know if it can get much better than it is now.
|
Hey, check this out.
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=35590 I hate Roadrunner though, so we'll see what happens. |
I hope they stay away from roadrunner :upset:
I don't want Opeth to turn into radiofriendly nu-metal I thought they had already signed with another label? |
Mikael and Peter have enough sense to not let a producer tell them what to do, I mean they've only been in the buisiness for the past 15 or so years, you know?
I see Roadrunner as a good thing, that will make Opeth far more accessable, and then all the kids who bitched at me for wearing Opeth shirts and telling me how talentless they are and that anybody can play that will finally have heard them, and feel like douches. |

meh, but Mikeal won't dissappoint us, I'm sure. if only they would update on how their album is coming along.
If you've seen the DVD Lamentations, you will know that Opeth will not make a St. Anger. Let's spend our time worrying about what Nightwish is gonna do with a Roadrunner deal, not Opeth. :) |
true to that.
I love the dvd, glad he dissed the occult black metal theme. and as far as Nightwish is concerned, they have never grasped my attention, mainly cause I don't like woman vocals :p |

And don't give me that "too trained" crap either. Illfukincutyou. /jkjk |
high pitched man vocals arwe the way to go!!
/James LaBrie fanboy  |
Especially the ending.
agreed |
the entire song is just awesome.
azbassman: could you post your demon of the fall version once you're done?
Yeah ill try to post it but i dont think my computer can handel it (it really sux) |
^
it's cool, you shouldn't screw up your computer just for this, so nevermind :) |
For anyone who doesn't have it, in the YSI thread, the 2 bonus tracks off BWP are there on page 14 or something. Don't expect too much though.
|
is that
still day beneath the sun and patterns in the ivy II? I love those songs. IMO very worth checking out |

I mean, really...nothing says "sell out" more than "Hire the entire London Symphony Orchestra," does it? They've grown alot more ambitious, and definetly crafted their best song to date - Ghost Love Score. It did kinda bother me that "Wish I had an Angel" was the U.S. single that was pushed, as that was by far the weakest song on the album and didn't really represent what their sound was about. Fun live tune, though. |

I love SDBN, and Patterns!!!
Also someone posted last page about Opeth merging with RR, but i wouldn't worry because Opeth stated very clearly in a little special on guitar.com that they purposly try to write songs people can't predict. Check out the video its really awsome. They basicly disect the song Drapery Falls. |
I worry about RR because of overexposure and the fact that they may make Opeth write singles, which obviously will not work.
Good night everyone. |

Good night everyone.
Hopefully the closest thing Opeth will come to a single is a song like Hope Leaves or one of ther other many ballad songs. If they change to RR liking they will lose a LARGE fan base and they know that. |
Yeah, Also, you have to remember, as Mikael mentioned on the dvd. "we're going back to the old opeth formula". Basically, anything and everything between morningrise and deliverence yes?
I could see how Metallica could bring out St. anger, They were always the gods of the mainstream metal scene, and their ego's predicted that they stay there. (that is only my opinion ok people? so no flaming, please, we're all brothers here). With Opeth, i highly doubt that they can make the transition from death metal (i know ****ation wasn't, but the band itself is, you know?) to nu-metal. I know that In flames went from being a melodic death metal band to what they are now, and Soilwork went from Chainheart machine to what they are now. But they progressively changed, they didn't just change within one album. I think if Opeth ever make a nu-metal album like that, it will progress towards that sound within the next couple of albums. |
So, instead of one terrible album, we get about 4 progressively worse? I don't think that that is much better, man!

haha, you know what i mean :p. With In flames there was colony, which was ok, then reroute to remain, which was quite poor, then this new peice of crap. with soilwork, there was natural born chaos, which was still ok, then there was figure number 5(real let down). We can at least get 1 or 2, ok albums if thats the case:p which won't be, i have faith in Mikael! |
