I am a carpenter.

Muadip 11-10-2004 08:11 AM

wtf?? when I turn my tremble all the way up and use my scoll on the mouse my amp picks up the "scoll motions"

Wintermute 11-10-2004 08:15 AM
Winter, is MX or who ever considering ending this silly reputation thing.
Not as far as I know, no. Which is daft. People are coming up with ways to exploit it, there have been no surprises, only good or popular users (the system can't differentiate) who we all knew were good or popular have become rated. And there have been suggestions to make it worse. The experiment isn't over yet though.

gaslight 11-10-2004 08:25 AM

gg on the mod powers Winter .

Do you happen to have one of those infrared mouses or something?

Muadip 11-10-2004 08:38 AM

^^ yes

Wintermute 11-10-2004 08:43 AM

Is it a wireless one? If it is, it'll have a small transmitter in it, which is probably the reason.

Muadip 11-10-2004 08:44 AM

I thought about that.. but it's not wireless

Muadip 11-10-2004 08:49 AM

Wintermute 11-10-2004 10:18 AM

edit: infact they have actualy gone down :( :upset:

coddingtown 11-10-2004 11:19 AM

Casual 17

Mitchell Royce 11-10-2004 11:20 AM

Bah, who cares about the rep, really. I've got a minimal amount of points last time I checked(last week), but so what. We know who's who in here, at least, so it really doesn't make nay difference. So far I don't see any perks to reputation other than getting stars under your name, so what does it matter.
The funniest thing I've seen so far was Papa Shank on the guitar forum, who put up an entire instructionla video by Petrucci, with the condition that one should only download when they've given him rep points. So I guess here's a case where a board at large benefited from one man's need to have as high a rep as possible.

fatbandit 11-10-2004 11:34 AM

Heyho MX! How's things? My school rock band was cancelled today, and I hate lugging my bass up to school for no reason. Grr.

Distorted Vision 11-10-2004 11:44 AM

(This is actually the first time I've ever posted in a casual thread. GG on making it in GMT so it's not 8 pages long by the time I see it :) )

Anyway, my band goes into the studio tomorrow to record the first song on our demo. And it's not costing us anything.

I take a music technology course in this brand spanking new Arts centre in my town, which has it's own studio with all the latest top-of-the-range equipment. It's pretty incredible to work in there.

Thing is, for our first unit in the coursework, we have to do a recording. So my band needed to record a demo, and all 5 people in class volunteered to record a track each for their own projects. In the end it's win-win, we get a free recording session and everyone gets their project done. :)

But I'm still not happy about my tone through the Bass POD they have there. I'm not that experienced with it so I can't dial in a perfect tone straight away, which is frustrating to say the least when I'm expected to just plug in and play like everyone else. I sounded weak on the test recording we did last week, so I'm gonna spend an hour or so trying to dial in a phat tone tomorrow.

Having a Tech 21 Bass Driver would be ideal for this actually, I'm looking at one of them for Christmas.

Thunder Fingers 11-10-2004 11:49 AM

huh... first time in casual thread :p(i think..)

anyway... i wanna educate me as an guitar/bass repairsman, but the line for that got cut 2 - 3 years ago... :( i guess i have to find someone who does that around here and get an job there...

and, i have quited school.. :D freedom! :D
but thoose **** 16th notes ruin my will to learn.. i cant count them for ****... i can play them though...

PaulR 11-10-2004 12:18 PM

Yay, had band practice with my "other" band.

Its kinda fun, a lot speedier and heavier.

Some Metallica stuff, now i have to learn "Battery".

Tryxx 11-10-2004 12:48 PM

Hey MX, I'm home before economics.

fatbandit 11-10-2004 01:05 PM

Yo Tryxx. Its going kind of slow right now I think.

Tryxx 11-10-2004 01:11 PM

VERY slow... I'm going back and forth between forums.

Wintermute 11-10-2004 01:15 PM

I'm in GMT, so every casual thread I make is in GMT. It may be 3am GMT, but still...

fatbandit 11-10-2004 01:24 PM

I'm not bothered when it starts, it just bothers me that all the action goes off *not* in GMT.

I could cry...

Linkinbassist 11-10-2004 01:24 PM

hey, i'm on page 3...

*starts stripping*

Good Morrow MX...

Tryxx 11-10-2004 01:41 PM

I'm going to class now...I'll be back sometime around 4-4:30. I suppose that would be around 10-10:30 for Wintermute and 6 A.M or so for Madthumbs...

Wintermute 11-10-2004 01:42 PM

Time differences are funny things.

Shindazebub 11-10-2004 01:44 PM
