I just posted my first ever Sputnik review on Catch A Fire. Since it's my first, I guess it has to be approved first, but there you go.

Go France. Beat the italian bastards
|
Yeah Amen to that. Go Frenchies.
|
We don't need to give those kids who are like 1/10th italian another reason to say omfg im italian lol i am so kool
|
I would HATE to be in Sydney or Melbourne at the moment. They have a massive Italian population down there.
You wouldn't be able to set foot on the street without hearing "OMG Italy rules at foodball" |

You wouldn't be able to set foot on the street without hearing "OMG Italy rules at foodball"
Hasn't happened to me yet. And I go outside everyday. However I do live in an area mostly populated by South Africans like my parents, and very few Italians that I can think of. |
I heard Sydney is populated by dead chicks who dont say no
awesome blosom |
Can any of you Alt/Indiers introduce me to Belle & Sebastian, I hope to bump into them live.
|
Get If You're Feeling Sinister. Or you could get their new one, since they'll probably play a lot of it live.
Melbourne was sweet. Except some of my clothes shrunk in the wash. |
The Pig War by Minus the Bear is like the best song ever.
|
QUEENSLANDER!!!!!

totally
The Pig War by Minus the Bear is like the best song ever.
It used to be my least-favorite song on the album. I thought it was too mellow and boring, but I've gotten out of that mindset. A trip-hoppy song from them is never a bad thing, but I still like most of the album's songs better. |
I'm missin MX during the day, man. I'm bored as HELL because my guitar student is out of town and my internship doesn't start until Monday.

You MET Stevie
dn2ji3rtb234utb4thb4 But seriously go see Hank Williams III. That guy's hella cool. |
Shit, ArrestThisMan. Did he feel your face?
|
If I were a blind dude, I'd go around feeling people's faces. Just to, you know, make them uncomfortable.
|
I know I blind dude, blind Steve, I reckon he's a perv. He feels peoples faces and constantly asks for hugs from the ladies. It's funny stuff though.

Yea, Stevie came into where I work a few days ago. It was INSANE. I was just upstairs in the warehouse, and one of the stock guys told me to go look in the keyboard section. So I wandered down there, and there was about 4-5 employees and another 4-5 customers (the store was really quiet) all standing around him while he played and sang on one of the keyboards.
I was about a foot away as he played, and his entourage paced around to make sure nobody was recording it. Then one of our employees got on one of the other keyboards and they started jammin together. He started playing some Coltrane to see if he could keep up, but our guy was right there with him. It was awesome. |
Does this mean MX is fixed now? I hope so, I've been so bored this past week.
|
I was going to say something.
But reading all of this made me forget what it was. |
MX's temper tantrums have forced me to leave the house this summer.
I saw this documentary/tribute concert to Leonard Cohen called Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. It was really good. Rufus Wainwright did Hallelujah and Everybody Knows, Nick Cave did Suzanne, and Antony from Antony & The Johnson did a version of If It Be Your Will that had me fighting back tears. It was just so rawly emotional. There were some other great performances too. I recommend it to any fans of these artists. |
Woo, I graduated last week. I'm pretty glad to be done with uni but now i'm back at home and i'm already bored out of my skull. It doesn't help that there isn't really anyone under the age of like, 70 living in my village. 2 people died this week too which is a bit of a downer :-/
It was also the worst car journey home ever. 2 days in the car, crammed in with all my stuff. Ugh. Now I just have to earn enough money to be able to move back down south again but seeing as there isn't that much work available I could be here a while. Ah well, c'est la vie. |
That's cool, TSH. It's a pretty great feeling to be done with that stuff.
My only timetable clashes were Sonic Youth/DJ Shadow (I still get to see half of DJ Shadow)
Gah! That's exactly what I was afraid of. I haven't seen the timetable yet, I'll check it now. |
I missed MX.
Hopefully it's fixed for good now. Stupid hackers and things. |
Oh, and by the way, God damn Italy again. :(

They put on one of the best shows I've ever seen if you can sit through the often terrible opening bands. In fact, Priestess opened when I saw them a week or so ago. Absolutely awful. I'll be catching E6 when they close their tour by playing in their hometown again. |
