Yeah, but think about it from Dave's point of view. He wasn't given any chances. The people he thought were his friends just said bye to him one day and never talked to him for years and years.

I'd probably have kicked him out too, not gunna lie. But maybe a warning? Something like that.
Yea, they should have given him few warnings before taking any action. And perhaps they were harsh. But Im just saying there is a reason, and when you have schedule and stuff, you cant really do what you want and when you want otherwise it screws up everything for the whole team/band. So basically dave caused this problem, but rest of the band didn't do much to help him. So it's kinda 50/50.

yeah I know what you mean...they really screwed dave over. I would be pissed as hell if that happened to me! I would wanna screw metallica over really bad. I think they could have been great with dave still in the band. I loved metallica with dave mustaine.
what makes you say june?

but yea back to the original questiobn it won't be till after the new album's released and that could be a long time from now (kea took 21 days and st anger took 2 years)
They love playing at Donington. Donington is held in June so it would make sense for them to be touring then, and it's probably right after their next album.

PepsiMetal 04-17-2005 02:11 PM
(kea took 21 days and st anger took 2 years)
Didn't saint anger take 2 years cause james had problems and needed help, and that 4 oclock schedule ****? I dont think he'll need help when they work on upcoming album. I think they'll make the new album much much quicker than 2 years.

Haha yeah i totally forgot abou the "stop by 4 so i can spend time with my family" sh!t. This will probly be one of there last albums, so he has 30 years to spend with his children.

Metallica>>>Family :D

Sandtrap 04-17-2005 02:14 PM
(kea took 21 days and st anger took 2 years)
that might be because they had alot of time before they were recording to write and perform and perfect the songs. However that is an interesting stat. :D

I agree with that.
However, I think that Bob Rock delays the release date of their albums with his unnecessary over-production...
The Black Album took almost 1 year uninterrupted. Live Sh!t didn't take long, because that was live. Load took about 1 year. St. Anger also took about a year without all the uninteruptions. Pre Bob Rock albums only took a matter of a couple of months at the most. Few Metallica fans like Bob Rock...there's a petition somewhere to get him removed.

They're writing now. I think they are recording too. Expect a release early 2006, possibly before Christmas this year to boost sales. If they're particularly lazy we might have to wait till next summer though...

Who's producing it? Bob Rock?

Has anyone heard Napster Begone or is it a joke?
The start begins a few months ago.
It is not accually official that they have started recording there new album yet :thumb:

I have just found some cool info and facts about songs of Metallicas, I will post a few of my favourites.

Metallica - Turn the Page (Originally by Bob Seger 1973)

It was the first single release of the "Garage Inc." album. Its video got a lot of attention because its story is about a prostitute.

The subject matter:
It is about the other side of a band's life on tour. The deafening silence after the audience leaves, the loneliness of hotel rooms and the stares in restaurants.

What Metallica says about it:
About three years before Metallica recorded "Garage Inc." Lars listened to Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" whilst he drove across the Golden Gate Bridge he was impressed how good Seger described the stupefying stuff the fans never see when a band is touring.

Lars: "That song has James Hetfield written all over it."

James: "I heard a song on the radio singing about the road life, a kind of somber, gruff, honest lyric in there. I kinda felt it could be Bob Seger, but the lyric and song itself was great. So it's all to do with that song rather than Bob Seger itself. The lyrics are us. We've been road dogs since day 1."

Leper Messiah

Because of the instrumental style of the song it has also become one of Cliff's trademark songs for many fans.

The song live:
The first time the song has been played live was in the "100 Club" in London, England on a secret gig which has been afterwards called "Damage Inc." on August 20th '87. The entire song has been only played live various times on tour between '87-'89 and once in '92. On the Load tour Metallica played it instrumentally as a pre-encore jam. Such a "Leper Messiah" jam is also included on "Cunning Stunts" which was filmed in September 1997 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jaymz's dedication:
Once on tour James sarcastically dedicated the song to Jim and Tammy Fey Baker, two TV evangelists who embezzled millions of dollars of charity money.

The claimed credits:
Dave Mustaine claimed he wrote the song's main riff and was not given credit by Metallica. The matter was settled quietly.

The subject matter:
It is about so called messiahs who make a good profit on other people's faith.

"Send me money, send me green"
"Heaven you will meet"
"Make a contribution"
"And you'll get a better seat"

Master of Puppets

I accually never knew Master of puppets was about drug addictions :amaze:

About drug addiction

"End of passion play, crumbling away"
"I'm your source of self-destruction"
- I = drug will kill you
"Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear"
- The darkest = heroin
"Leading on your death's construction"
- It is determining your fate
"Taste me you will see"
"More is all you need"
- Become addicted
"You're dedicated to"
"How I'm killing you"

"Come crawling faster"
"Obey your master"
- Master = drug
"Your life burns faster"
"Obey your master"
"Master"

"Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings"
- The drug is now controlling you
"Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams"
- The impact of the drug
"Blinded by me, you can't see a thing"
- Can't see that it's killing you
"Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream"
"Master"
"Master"
"Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream"
"Master"
"Master"

"Needlework the way, never you betray"
- Needlework = fixing
"Life of death becoming clearer"
"Pain monopoly, ritual misery"
- You're playing with your life
"Chop your breakfast on a mirror"
- Breakfast = taking cocaine on a mirror; or heroin if mirror = spoon
"Taste me you will see"
"(...)"

"Come crawling faster"

And is the rumor on "Re-Anger" is true?! I hope tehre will be solos!

FlyingPaul_83 04-17-2005 05:47 PM

They are recording with bob, and IDK about the second question

ThrashMaster27 04-17-2005 05:50 PM
Horrible argument.

Oh, you want a structured argument? Ok.

You might wanna check how many writing credits Kirk Hammett gets on what are considered Metallicas best albums. It's not really a lot. I don't see anything special about Kirk Hammett at all. He can't write a riff to save his life, his solos from the Black Album onwards are uninspired and boring and even then most of his solos couldn't challenge people that are average on Guitar. Plus the fact he's one of the most horribly overrated Guitarists ever.

When Kirk comes up with as many quality riffs over the years as Dave has and invents his own style instead of copying peoples then maybe we can start comparing them.

'Tallica Fanboy.

Rasta Rocker 04-17-2005 05:51 PM

Bob Rock ruins everyone....

circlethedrain 04-17-2005 05:56 PM

I hate bob rock soooo much. They should get rid of him because if they screw up another album this will be their last.
