What's 6th form?

Arucard 07-11-2005 03:04 AM

Mmm.. Our version of College maybe? I am out of compuslry education, so its my first years of going to school out of choice.

College at age 16? what?

I am confused about your school system from the way you are explaining it.

Arucard 07-11-2005 03:13 AM

Ok. Sorry, i'll explain better.

Up until the age of 16 (or year 11, when you take your compulsry exams, your GCSE's), you need to go to school. After that, you can take your A Levels if you want, or go get a job/do nothing. After that, you can go to Uni.

BoboTheRagingHobo 07-11-2005 03:17 AM

Ah, I see.

I see it is similar to the idea here. When you hit age 16 or hit junior year first (grade 11), you can then legally drop out of school and do what ever with your life, or continue on with high school. Before those times, which ever comes first, you have to stay in school.

that seems a good explanation anyway, I am currently in 6th form, you do 3 or four subjects, for example, I do English literature, French, Drama and Law.

at the end of the first year exams, A/S level, half of the full A level, you can drop one subject for next year.

Stoic 07-11-2005 03:33 AM

morning, 12:33, surprisingly it's raining at the moment.

here you can go to Uni directly after highschool but our educational system sucks in general.
So uhh, how about where is everyone from? Also, say one thing you like about your area, and one thing you dislike. :D

Mabton, Washington: I like it because of my seclusion. It's nice to be out here in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to look at but endless hills of sage brush. The major thing I dislike about it is the fact that it is so small and boring. Nothing good every comes through here as far as musical acts, and there really isn't much else to explore than the C&D Mart that sells bongs. :p
I am from a town in New Jersey called Toms River

What is nice about it: we have everything, a mall, a movie theater, 5 minutes from the beach, a state park, as well as some of the best pizza places ever due to them being run by former brooklyn resident italians.

What blows about it: being 5 mintues from the beach means traffic during the summer is utter insanity, and the tourists we get are a bit less than savory.

Baseball is the coolest American sport. Let's go Mets! :p
I agree, but i think you meant to say Let's go Yankees! ;)
College basketball > pro basketball > baseball > pro football > college football > hockey
I beleive you have it wrong:

Baseball > Hockey > Soccer > pro football > College Football > anything else

Lord Abortion 07-11-2005 03:36 AM

Stoic 07-11-2005 03:37 AM

Lord Abortion

What does a head boy do?

Arucard 07-11-2005 03:49 AM

They just make decisions and stuff, and generally keep basic order.

/Answers question for you.

organise events like charity day and 6th form ball, along with the commitee, represent the school at events and stuff, cane the younger boys, sit in your chambers smoking cigars and drinking port whilst wearing a smoking jacket, top hat and monacle.

Australia is more retarded, and criminal slave land version of England.

I got the perception for book 5 that Harry is a total emo kid.

Riva 07-11-2005 04:38 AM

Oh really? If that series was based in Australia, the fifth book would have been called "Harry Potter rips Voldermort's head off and shits down his throat."

And, if the movie had been cast with Samuel L. Jackson as Dumbledore, it would have been renamed, "Harry Potter: Shut The fuck up." (GG Brian from 8 Bit Theater).

Arucard 07-11-2005 04:40 AM

That would be so good.

'And now, after catching you with the invisibility cloak, you shall be bitch slapped!'

Riva 07-11-2005 04:49 AM

Man, I am uploading so much music for the new FA. Phew. You guys had better appreciate this.

Who's it on?

And when do we get the mayhem?

Riva 07-11-2005 04:55 AM

It's a secret, and when I get someone to interview. :)

I'm very political; I love that show, and I will give anyone an earful about what I think is wrong with the government
Wasn't it you that said you weren't sure there were any good political shows? :-/

Probably not, but I seem to think it was.

zepfan - thanks for editing.

clearvision 07-11-2005 05:23 AM

NP : DJ Shadow - You can't go home again - such a feel good tune...

Arucard 07-11-2005 05:23 AM

I doubt it, that would just wrong. Hes ginger! Not nice ginger either.

munky_magik 07-11-2005 05:34 AM

So, now that the protesters have got the fuck out of my capital I can go shopping for my friend's 18th birthday pressent.
Today's trip yielded nothing for him...but Clutch - Robot Hive/Exodus (£8.99), The Suicide Machines - A Match and Some Gasoline (£4.99), and The Blues Brothers - A Briefcase Full of Blues (£4.99), for myself.

I'm a bad person :(

Riva 07-11-2005 05:41 AM

Picture an MSN convo, with yours truly at the helm. This is me talking about original ideas....

I have this idea to have a sci fi kind of trilogy
with this guy called Duke Starstalker
And he battles this evil dark king
Who is trying to take over the world
except it turns out that this king is his uncle
And then once it has gained cult status
I'll make a series of ****ty prequels
and wipe my arse with the money I still make
I think I'll call it... Star Battle

Stoic 07-11-2005 05:42 AM

munky magik
You from Scotland?

Six Foot Revolver 07-11-2005 05:45 AM

Should I get a name change people?
