If any Dylan fans are interested, I'm listening to a tribute CD right now. It was a live show in NYC in 1992, and it has covers by Neil Young, Lou Reed, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Roger McGuinn, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, The Band, and Dylan himself. It's called Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Collection and it's really great. I would recommend it to any big Dylan fans out there.

/thread
Would you upload any of it?

Right, doing that as we type. It's taking a long time though:(
A lot of 70s arena rock wasn't that great.
what do me you mean, there is tons of 70s arena rock thats great like The Who in the 70s.

ledpoisoning27 03-13-2005 12:42 AM
Oh yea I wasn't defending the Crunge as a whole song. Actually if I want to listen to it I just pop in Dazed and Confused off How The West Was Won :p

And I also love All of my Love, I like to think of that as their closing song because thats my favorite song so late in their career.
yeah Zeppelin did a lot of that, like in the zeppelin dvd, the lemon song just pops up in their songs.

Very few bands had The Who's talent in the 70's, but many bands tried.

funkybeeatch14 03-13-2005 10:02 AM

Boston is more or less 70's arena rock, theyre not as bad as The Eagles...actually never mind. Lots of kids where I live like them, though.

Bartender 03-13-2005 10:04 AM

I like the Eagles. I think that may be largely nostalgia, though.

unclebobscircus 03-13-2005 10:49 AM

I like some of the Eagles' stuff (mainly the Joe Walsh era). A lot of their stuff (like Desperado) is crap, though.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-13-2005 10:52 AM

So, I'm going to Borders today.

I'm thinking about a Who CD or maybe something that I don't have.

Just chuck reccomendations at me please.

Badmoon 03-13-2005 11:01 AM

I do not have a problem with The Eagles. They certainly have talent in pretty much all fields, and their song writing isn't something to complain about. And of course, their sound doesn't annoy me.

Plus Joe Walsh kicks ***.

Recommendations to Malcolm:

Do you have anything by The Byrds....or....the Grateful Dead.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-13-2005 11:08 AM

Yeah I was thinking of some Grateful Dead,

I've got their s/t, Aoxomoxoa, and Anthem of the Sun.

Badmoon 03-13-2005 11:15 AM

Nice :thumb:

You pretty much have their Psychedelic period completed (Minus Live Dead). Now you should try their later/Country Rock stuff. Check out American Beauty and/or Workingman's Dead. Both fantastic albums.

Woodstock 03-13-2005 11:17 AM

Just came back from the record show. I got:

Mountain-Climbing
Bloomfield Kooper Stills-Super Session
The Kinks-The Kink Kontroversy

All on CD. Although I didn't really get the deals I wanted. Mountain is awesome so far.

unclebobscircus 03-13-2005 11:18 AM

I have three words for you - Tony Williams Lifetime

jazz fusion > you

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-13-2005 11:34 AM

American Beauty but theyr'e both really good.
Which is the better, American Beauty or Workingman's Dead?
Wow, two of the only three I have. If you like folkier stuff more I would recommend Workingman's Dead, American Beauty is alot more like the San Fransico stuff that came out of the 60's, I heard AB first and it got me hooked, so I'd recommend that

Yeah, right now I'm thinking American Beauty, and I think I might get something else, but not Workingman's Dead.

Badmoon 03-13-2005 11:53 AM

American Beauty is Acid Country Rock, like the New Riders of the Purple Sage (If you have ever heard them). While Workingman's Dead is much more of a Roots album.

W.D. is constantly fanastic, while A.B. has all good songs, but some just pretty good, and others are some of the Dead's best.

Get American Beauty first. It is their most known.

MalcolmYoungRock 03-13-2005 11:55 AM

Thanks 'moon.

I'm also thinking a Who album.

Damn where's Lunch when you need him?
