fIREHOSE - If'n

They're not as mefiocre as a lot of people say they are. They're no Minutemen, but this record is pretty enjoyable.

Eliminator 06-06-2007 05:53 PM

Quite

Bukowski 06-06-2007 05:55 PM

Dizzee Rascal was something I checked out on a whim, Anxious. They're certainly nothing like the other 3 bands. No Neck Blues Band are excellent.

Faust - Faust So Far

Eliminator 06-06-2007 06:02 PM

Dizzee is one person.

Kyle 06-06-2007 06:05 PM

Flushin MC's down the loo,
If you dont believe me bring your posse, bring your crew,
Feel free to hate cos i ain't tryin-a be your mate,
Be serious you wouldn't last an hour in my shoes

Sun City Girls - Midnight Cowboys From Ipanema

This actually sounds quite normal and conventional. Well, by this band's standards.

Anxious 06-06-2007 07:06 PM

Sun City Girls were New Weird America before New Weird America.

Eliminator 06-06-2007 07:08 PM

nu weird amerikkka

YDload 06-06-2007 07:10 PM

the thought of British people rapping makes me mad (even if some of them are actually black). who allowed this to happen?!

Eliminator 06-06-2007 07:12 PM

Freedom hating Muslims.

YDload 06-06-2007 07:45 PM

anyway i learned all of Slanted and Enchanted on bass today. either the bass is really muddy or that guy likes to play power chords occasionally. makes things a bit more interesting because otherwise the basslines are pretty boring.

also i learned Stockholm Syndrome by Yo La Tengo, its a great song.

Eliminator 06-06-2007 08:14 PM

Minus the Bear - Planet of Ice

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-06-2007 08:25 PM

Hiromi - Another Mind
Four Tet - Rounds

Does Planet of Ice live up to their other stuff or what?

FUnkarockadrummer 06-06-2007 08:35 PM

I have been absolutely flogging Battles - Mirrored on my stereo. That and Panda Bear - Person Pitch.

Black Randy and the Metrosquad - Pass the Dust, I Think I'm Bowie

fucking great. sounds like dead kennedys' aggression and twisted humor, minutemen's funk, and a little bit of saccharine trust's jazz edge all blended together before any of those bands had released any material. and james brown or something? i don't know but they cover "Say It Loud- I'm Black and I'm Proud" and it's amazing. the lyrics are full of wit and are sometimes hilarious, dripping with irony. this is a must have for all you that enjoy funky punk stuff or just post punk in general, seriously.

"I Tell Lies Everyday" and "Idi Amin" represent the album pretty well and are two of my favorite tracks off of it, so check those out if you aren't sure

Kyle 06-07-2007 12:04 PM

Following albums are great.

Fridge - The Sun
Why? - Elephant Eyelash
cLOUDDED - Ten
Talib Kweli & Hi Tek - Reflection Eternal

Hedgedive 06-07-2007 01:49 PM
