Ah, who cares? Just imagine all the people, living life in peace!
Why are you telling me that? I tryed to show how each races played a role in Rock music, while others tryed to say it was all Black people.

Badmoon 01-20-2005 02:09 PM
we've talked about Rory Gallagher before, unless you are talking about the whole discussion about stealing music. We've talked about his music and guitar playing , he's pretty good.

I think a lot time ago the laws about "stealing" music weren't nearly as strict. That's why folk, jazz, and blues artists often did covers of songs, and recieved all the credit. It wasn't really until Rock music started, that the legal aspects of coprights and stuff came into play. That's why everyone came down so hard on Zeppelin, they were doing exactly what all the blues and folk guys were doing, except that they were a mainstream band so it was a huge uproar. if they did that twenty years earlier, no one would have cared or noticed.
You are really trying make it sound like Jimmy did nothing wrong.

jpj 01-20-2005 02:23 PM

This topic really has no redeeming value and people always end up getting angry, so let's talk about Yes.

Yppolitia 01-20-2005 02:24 PM

I think Yes are pretty good but i havent heard much of their stuff, or not enough to buy one of there albums.

jpj 01-20-2005 02:30 PM

You should definitely check out The Yes Album and Fragile. Roundabout, Mood For A Day, Starship Trooper, and All Good People are some of my favorite songs.

magicbus 01-20-2005 03:06 PM

DUDE. You guys are all missin out on Close To The Edge. It rules.

jpj 01-20-2005 03:19 PM

I've been meaning to check that out on the site, but I haven't been in the mood lately. All I've been listening to is Sailing the Seas of Cheese since the day I got it.

Illmatic 01-20-2005 03:20 PM

Jimmy 01-20-2005 04:04 PM

Everyone who likes classic rock should check out supagroup and the mooney suzuki, two newer classic rock bands kicking ***.

PinkFreud 01-20-2005 04:23 PM

dont you bring youre new rock in here. cant you read the thread title? canned heat is good but i cant seem to get into them. which is odd since i love blues-rock. has anyone heard of a band called frijid pink? they were an old detroit band and the only song i can find or have heard from them is a cover of house of the rising sun. it rocked. they kept the majority of the song the same but added in some killer guitar. check it out if you can find them.

Jimmy 01-20-2005 04:26 PM

it's classic rock, but its new. That too much for you? I don't care.

New classic rock=Classic Rock bands releasing new material

PinkFreud 01-20-2005 04:31 PM
it's classic rock, but its new. That too much for you? I don't care.
BludgeonySteve 01-20-2005 04:31 PM

It's not classic rock if it's new. It's rock and roll is what it is.

In my Health class, one of the questions on the final was "Why is acid so incorperated with music from the late 60's?"

I think I was the only kid who gave an in depth answer on that.

Also I just got After the Gold Rush by Neil Young.

One of my new favorite albums ever.

Edit - They didn't say acid though. They said the really long term that LSD stands for.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-20-2005 05:38 PM

What does LSD stand for?

MalcolmYoungRock 01-20-2005 05:44 PM

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

So, yes it does have the word "ACID" in it.

Illmatic 01-20-2005 05:45 PM

lysergic acid diethylamide-25, if I had to venture a guess.

Illmatic 01-20-2005 05:46 PM
