trying to figure out what class to play in this new neverwinter nights game
|
cleric of some sort cause healz
|
yeah i think i might do a cleric or a druid
i never play spellcasters, i always go for monks or rangers usually |
playim skrim
|
wish there was a good fighter/wizard prestige class in NWN
i hate not having a decent standard attack |
there are a bunch of good prestige classes. what do you mean standard attack?
anyway just play a wizard because wizards rule. |
dude NWN was my jam
|
lol remember the other forum josh set up so we could play DnD?
|
I wanna play DnD again :|
|
apparently 4.5 ed is coming out soon
already in play testing |
[QUOTE=christsimpson;18771514]there are a bunch of good prestige classes. what do you mean standard attack?

gonna be a ranger and multiclass to shadowdancer
|
@mrron it's 5E.
@lilmitch there aren't really any "fighter mages" in DnD altogether, unless you are playing gestalt. in NwN, which is based on 3E, the closest you'd get is uh a Paladin or a Ranger. |
Never played NWN, is it worth my time?
|
Shadowdancer is kind of shit in that it's only good defensively. I played through ~ two chapters of NwN as a high-level Shadowdancer without making a single attack, LOL.
|

@Angmar Nevewinter Nights is the best computer role-playing game I have ever played. the single-player has an epic story, engaging characters and a good game system.
the multi-player was and is revolutionary in that the game ships with the creation tools the developers used themselves, allowing for great custom content. furthermore, NwN allows you to have DMs. so persistent world servers with active DMs and NPCs are really good, and maybe the closest thing you'll ever get to a real role-playing game on the computer. |
@illmitch which prestige classes are these? 3.5E homebrews? I mean, in Pathfinder you have Summoner, and you have uh the 3.5E Druid, I guess... but they're usually either obviously martial characters with a few spells, or magic users that aren't shit mêlée. there aren't any full-BAB classes with amazing spell lists, unless you are playing gestalt.
|
i cant remember, ive read a few supplement books with good prestige classes
|
cool. personally I prefer specialising anyway. min/maxing is too fun. making a Synthesist/Monk for a gestalt campaign that will end everyone.
I'll enlarge person for 10ft reach -> charge -> flurry of blows [full-attack action after charge/pounce lol]. then the monster/person I attacked has to charge or move towards me to attack me - giving me an attack of opportunity due to reach, in which I first attack it, then make a combat manoeuvre which pushes him/her/it 5ft back... resulting in him/her/it having to charge/move again... resulting in another attack of opportunity after which I push him/her/it 5ft back... and yeah... you see where this is going, LOL. also it's a mêlée fighter with STR & DEX for dump stats, LOLOL. |
started campaign, immediately died
so much for that character! |
play a Half-Orc Barbarian and dump everything but STR. it's kind of fun.
|
gonna do a wizard and go pale master
i wish there was a way to see what the packages do. i've never done one of them because i like customizing my characters too much. @christsimpson i dunno if i could do that for roleplaying reasons. i just hate playing stupid characters. and i always like having decent CHA so i can persuade people |
fuck packages and the recommended button
|
i usually click the recommended button to see what it is and then twerk it to my desires
|

I used to feel the same way. but then I played a freaking retard once, and loved it [Halfling Barbarian/Bard, LOL]. it can be fairly hilarious. but persuade is really nice to have in the single-player campaign, I'll give you that. |
hah that sounds interesting ill give it a go sometime
whats a good familiar to have for a LN wizard i was thinking panther |
