Air - Talkie Walkie
Portishead - Dummy |
Boris with Michio Kurihara - Rainbow
Caribou - Andorra Terrific new record. I can feel a little more Up In Flames returning on some tracks - & also taking a lot of the sound towards a psych-pop. It's very nice. |
Kayo Dot
Joy Divsion The Cure I've been listening to so much Kayo Dot that I think they have to be my favourite band or something. |
The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I
Finch - What It Is To Burn The Movielife - The Movielife Has A Gambling Problem |
Icarus Line - Mono
If the new album is anywhere near as good as this or the other one, I'll be happy |
Annuals - Be He Me
The Thermals - The Body, The Blood, The Machine |
Dizzee Rascal - Maths + English
Can't believe that the goddamned label isn't releasing a CD version of this in the states, only a digital release. So, I broke down and ordered it from a British retailer - cost me a leg and a half though. Hopefully the gesture will let XL know that grime has enough fans in the US to support them. Besides that jive, the record's great. Specifically cuts like "Paranoid", "Pussyole", "Hardback (Industry)" and "Wanna Be". And of course, the single, "Sirens" is wonderful as well. |
Was just about to post:
Dizzee Rascal - Maths and English One of the most anticipated releases of the year for me, and it does not dissapoint. Fantastic record - clever, upbeat, grimey, pop hooks. Dizzee finally cracked the sound I've wanted him to take on ever since his debut. |
Scissor Sisters - Ta-Dah!
What a great record  |
Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
Meat Puppets - Up on the Sun I finally checked out Up on the Sun, and it isn't near as good as II, but it's still a really good record. |
Black Dice - Beaches and Canyons
Black Dice - Broken Ear Record I love this band. |

I finally checked out Up on the Sun, and it isn't near as good as II, but it's still a really good record.
They made it a point to something new on every album. Its alot different than II, but still great. Cat Power-Moon Pix Perfect album. |

you know how when you search for a band on youtube, you always get some shlub band that tagged their videos with the names of their more popular influences? well this is the first time i actually liked what i found (or clicked on it at all, for that matter). searching for Scratch Acid vids, i found this cool noisy rock clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M1UjQjbH_4 One-Dimensional Man- "Marianne" |

Heavens To Murgatroid - !
Heavens To Murgatroid - ...And the Planets Keep Spinning HTM were this great local band that was around like, 8 years ago, and actually got pretty big (as far as bands from a small city in New Hampshire go). They got back together recently. I think a lot of you guys would like them. I might upload some of their stuff on the mailing list. |
Dead Kennedys - Frankenchrist
Weezer - Blue Album |
Minus the Bear - Highly Refined Pirates

Today:
Block Party - Silent Alarm Kings Of Convenience - Riot On An Empty Street Just downloaded the new Dizzee Rascal, I'm into the 4th or 5th song, it still can't top Boy In Da Corner imo. |
Tomahawk - Anonymous
Bob Schneider - The Californian The new Tomahawk is seriously awesome. Their best release yet. I'd say. |
Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound
They really shouldn't do 9 minute songs. |
Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi
Radiohead - Airbag/How Am I Driving? EP |
Bob Tilton - Crescent
Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic how do you write a guitar line as perfect as the one in "Any Major Dude Will Tell You"? wtf. |
Islaja - Ulual Yyy
The National - Boxer New Islaja is good. clearer songs. |
The Breeders - Pod
|
Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound
They really shouldn't do 9 minute songs.
yeah this album is ridiculous, not liking it as much as their others at all. |
There are some cool shorter songs like "Kittypants" and "Boycott", but most of it is boring.
|
i'll probably have to skip it then :/
|
Cover is pretty bangin tho
|
Black Dice - Broken Ear Record
Fatboy Slim - Better Living Through Chemistry |
Paul Baribeau's self-titled album is really good.
