type an artist and you'll get their influences/origins and other artists that sound similar. It's quite accurate at times. Does something with movies too, eg if you like artist X what movie you should watch, but I havent tried it.

EDIT

The air condition froze the house so one bath was enough

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2005 04:02 PM

Ray- My AIM is being blowjobby again, so I can't send IM's.

musicplasma lets you type in a band name, and it will come up with this cluster of bands that are similair to the artist.

Illmatic 07-10-2005 04:03 PM

Nothing wrong with blowjobs, Jake.

its soooooo frigging humid here in Northumberland, i'm sweating at the moment, i wish we got dry continental heat!

EDIT: i just used musicplasma, typed in iron maiden (favourite band) and it came up with:
Metallica, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, GNR, Rush, Ozzy Osbourne, Anthrax, all of which i listen to already!

Lord Abortion 07-10-2005 04:03 PM

well I had to have one before work this morning and school tomorrow so...

Rothmans 07-10-2005 04:27 PM

To me musicplasma is possibly one of the worst sites I have ever seen its horrible for looking for bands.

123...I typed in "Cream" and I think I had listened to every band they had for Cream.

How do you still have school?

Arucard 07-10-2005 04:32 PM

MY hair is longer than all of yours. And according to this guy, i look like some wierdo :/

Steerpike 07-10-2005 04:33 PM

Musicplasma has, without a doubt, the worst interface I've ever seen. It told me nothing I didn't already know about. I punched in Blind Guardian and it was giving my uber-tangential results like Metallica and Staind. It listed Avantasia, but not Edguy. And it used Children of Bodom to go into black metal like Old Man's Child.
123...I typed in "Cream" and I think I had listened to every band they had for Cream.
yeah, that's the problem with musicplasma, it simply confirms, it doesn't present anything new...

also, good evening everyone

Besides that, there's huge gaps and inconsistencies.

I typed in Lost Horizon and it instead performed a search for Vertical Horizon. Among the map for that one, they felt the need to give Evanescence a bigger sphere of influence than Santana.

Six Foot Revolver 07-10-2005 04:39 PM

So I have joined the bandwagon of people making series' of threads.

Which band should I do; Radiohead or Motorhead?

Battle of the heads

I just tried some artists who are rather underground, and indeed, it searches with another artist. Kids, don't use this site !
