Wait, I thought that fruits were things that grow from flowers, not just that grow on trees? Like tomatoes and zucchinis. 'Cause they're fruits. Tubers and leaves like potatoes and lettuce are vegetables.

[/nerd]
Above ground = fruit
On or below ground = vegetable

Left Shoe 11-09-2004 03:00 PM

super deluxe wins she said tubers

Tryxx 11-09-2004 03:01 PM

These small little conversations turn into things quite enlightening...

But...the lettuce! It doesn't live underground!

*cries*

risbo 11-09-2004 03:09 PM

It lives on the ground though doesn't it?

nisakss 11-09-2004 03:10 PM

Did you actaully know that the tomato, although everybody says it's a vegetable, it really is a fruit :o

Wintermute 11-09-2004 03:12 PM

Yeah, I made a mistake and edited, sadly Super read it before the edit.

risbo 11-09-2004 03:12 PM

I knew that! But is it true the potatoe is not a vegitable but a starch?

Wintermute 11-09-2004 03:12 PM

Wintermute 11-09-2004 03:13 PM
What about ARTICHOKES, biznatches?

 I don't know, it's just what I heard.
Potatoes are composed largely of starch. But they're still vegetables.

Cars are composed largely of metal, but they're still cars.

:smoke:

Wintermute 11-09-2004 03:16 PM

Looks like a pinecone of some form. I dismiss it as some sick joke. Begone with your fictional vegetablefruits.

Left Shoe 11-09-2004 03:17 PM

now look at what i started

Speaking of vegetablefruits, anyone ever had a durian? They smell like death incarnate. I don't know why anybody seeks them out for eating.

Chickens don't grow from the ground. That makes them fruits.
