thought some of the beginning of Air Force was kinda cool tho

Anxious 08-15-2008 01:52 AM

They're a band that really demands a quiet audience, and the audience at this aprticular veune is always really ****ing loud and obnoxious.

samarahah 08-15-2008 11:39 AM

i spent all day journeying to see blonde redhead and it was canceled :(

Anxious 08-15-2008 12:17 PM

That really really sucks.

Tyr 08-15-2008 12:37 PM

Yeah, I'd be looking for someone to kill.

samarahah 08-15-2008 04:16 PM

well we got to new york city which took around 3 hours to get there and then initially, for some reason, i thought it was in brooklyn so we went there and then realized it was back in manhattan and rushed like hell to get back there for the show at six when we got there, there was a huge line that we stood in until probably 8 o clock (an hour of which was spent in the pouring rain with no umbrella) when they told us it was canceled. so then i ate yummy expensive food to console myself and we went home. :(

Reaganista 08-15-2008 04:22 PM

Zmev 08-15-2008 05:16 PM

Used to be a Sonic Youth ripoff till they did their own thing.

Glitterati 08-15-2008 05:59 PM

I drove for about an hour and twenty minutes today to have a tooth examination that took about seven minutes.

I am angered because this is time I could have spent jacking off and/or playing Mario Kart.

Zmev 08-15-2008 06:04 PM

JohnWilkesBooth 08-15-2008 07:39 PM

samarahah 08-15-2008 08:50 PM

Zmev 08-15-2008 09:02 PM

I keep getting spin because music festivals give me free subscriptions

Time 08-15-2008 10:08 PM

Paste is ok, its seems to have pretty much been overtaken by hipsters though. my brother gets Rolling Stone and it sucks big time but I read some of the articles if they feature someone cool

Jacaranda 08-16-2008 12:11 AM

is amoeba really neat zmev?

like is it worth visiting or is it just another record shop?

Zmev 08-16-2008 02:38 PM

Not only are both bay area locations great shops but they're also in the middle of big cultural things per city (San Francisco and Haight St./Berkeley and Telegraph Avenue).

So yes either one is more than worth visiting. Plus there are free shows listed here http://www.amoeba.com/live-shows/calendars.html

Myrrhman 08-16-2008 03:12 PM

ugh must go there

Liebensaft 08-16-2008 03:51 PM

Dear Okay,

Is there a site that displays all the cool shows coming up in the Tucson area? Example: r5productions.com lists all the good and meh shows coming up in Philadelphia. I imagine there's something similar for Tucson. I saw signs for Pinback in a couple of places.

YDload 08-16-2008 04:06 PM

lmao yeah because philly and tuscon are comparable

I started casually reading this British music magazine called Uncut a few years back, it's pretty cool. I can't subscribe to it in Canada so I usually just buy it off the stand.

Reaganista 08-16-2008 04:46 PM

r5productions doesnt list all the shows they list their shows

Sargent House is re-releasing Maps and Atlases' first two albums in stores, along with two other albums made by related members of the band:

Me and my friend were walking by our old high school tonight and we found a Bob The Builder toy in the grass. Naturally we put it on the concrete and set it on fire. After his face melted he just fused to the pavement and that's left is a little bubbly black spot.
