Yeah, they sold out. I'm an O.G.T. They betrayed me!
I never understood what O.G.T meant

The Tool album have already been realesed, they released it under an alias.. It's called "The Flying Cumdumpsters - The taste of skin"

Original Gangster Tool. Just like how people say they are an O.G. in rap.

Hi, I love Tool, I've been browsing this forum for a while now and I've finally decided to post :). I hav all of Tools albums and like most people I'm torn between aenima and lateralus. Aenima has the coolest song ever (Pu****) on it but i luv the maturity of Lateralus. My theory is that it's an album about the relationship between man and god. All the song lyrics seem to fit this theme and its the sort of thing that they wud do.

Lose the "luv" and you're cool.

Glad to see another Tool fan on here. Honestly, your view on Lateralus is actually pretty good. I personally don't believe that that was what the band was going for, but what do I know? All the songs, technically, do seem to fit in with the idea of a man and his relationship with his god. I've never really heard that idea or theory before, but I like it. I do sense a lot of spiritualness in the lyrics actually. Plus, you know, the band says that Lateralus means "upward thinking." Taken literally, since the cliche is that heaven is above us and hell is below us, it could mean upward in the sense of God.

I doubt that actually. Mainly because of a lyric in the title track. "as below, so above and beyond, I imagine." This stems from an old medieval saying, "as above, so below," meaning what happens in heaven (or some other higher plane) reflects what's going on down here. Tool reverse this, obviously they place more importance in this realm.

chongi 09-27-2005 01:57 PM

so how come you guys all stopped working on the covers?

jamesclelland 09-27-2005 01:58 PM

the upward thinking/lateralus part makes sense, but how do we know thats true. as we all know tool is known for spreading false information for what ever reason. so as it does kind of fit, im not sure if i can believe it.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-27-2005 02:35 PM

Yeah, I don't neccesarily believe in this theory, I just like how it fits.

repcak 09-27-2005 02:35 PM

If anyone of you is interesting in Anathema and want to get some songs for free (upload), then put your email on the list:

Whoa now, anyone check out the Tool site? Newest update links to an advertising of electric drums that Blair says Danny uses extensively on the new record. You click on a button or two, and you get to look at it, read about it, while hearing a sample of someone (perhaps Danny?) playing it. It sounds really cool and I can't wait to hear what effects Danny will be using on the new album. If they're anything like what I just heard on the Tool site, then it could be something really cool (just as long as the electric drums aren't overkilled).

BlindWriting 09-27-2005 07:59 PM

It says EXTENSIVELY (yes, in all caps) in Blair's update, so I hope the use of electronic drums and triggers don't overshadow his real kit work.

paganman7 09-27-2005 08:53 PM

"(Spring 2005) Confirmed that the new Tool album may still be incomplete, so it will probably not be released until some time next year, 2006."

Not sure of the validity...

lateralus is one of the best albums i heard. it brings 'heavy' to another new level, and the flow of thealbum is great

So, I was at the Orioles game tonight, and a little clip of an Elvis song comes on and I'm like, "Hey, I've heard that somewhere before". I realized its the little bit they play in the middle of Stinkfist in the OK show. So I came home and googled the lyrics "I'm caught in a trap...Because I love you too much baby", and low and behold, it is what they play in Stinkfist, its called Suspicious Minds. I found that rather interesting, and I haven't seen anyone post that, so I figured I'd share.
