That. Is. AMAZING.

sgrevs 04-04-2007 09:45 AM

The new Dizzee Rascal song that was posted on the site a few days ago, Pussy 'Ole, was really good, and makes me really want the album. When is it coming? has more of it leaked?

AIRIC 04-04-2007 08:45 PM

Could somebody upload Puff Daddy - Missin' You? Thanks a lot.

Robert Crumb 04-04-2007 08:52 PM

Boondox made my day.

ATM 04-05-2007 06:30 AM

Now we just need to hear it.

superpeer 04-06-2007 11:23 AM

Am I the only person who doesn't really like Public Enemy? :\

Eliminator 04-06-2007 11:34 AM

Public Enemy without Flav would rule.

Shades of Blue by Madlib, I've been digging.

Jaded 04-06-2007 04:24 PM

Stuff I've been into lately:

-Lexicon
-Lightheaded
-Sound Providers
-Procussions

Robert Crumb 04-06-2007 04:59 PM

What's wrong with all you Public Enemy haters? Sheesh.

Anywho, anyone heard the UKG feat. Outkast? Pretty decent, could be better.

hey man, what did you think of the Diverse?

EDIT: i'm not a big fan of Public Enemy, but i'm not a fan of old school hip-hop in general, so my opinion is biased . . .

They sound dated.

In terms of dated, it's strange to say that the beats in Tribe's first album held up the best.

superpeer 04-06-2007 05:42 PM

Nah, it's not that. It's just, half of the time Flav gets on my nerves and the samples just don't do it for me, I dunno. There's no groove in it. Or something. They're not bad, just don't know why everyone loves them so.

Just downloaded an Outkast album I found in one of the upload mailing lists, should listen to it.

Eliminator 04-06-2007 05:44 PM

Flav ruins any cred PE would have. There's no need for "comic relief" when you're a band with a message. It ruins it.

Rams 04-06-2007 05:47 PM

Chuck D and Terminator X are awesome, Flava's interjections give some variety to their music. Their music is powerful, on point, and somehow funky on top of that. This is why I'm hot.

Speaking of Terminator X, I am still pissed Just Blaze steals his beats.

Fair enough.

Apparently he now runs an ostrich farm in South Carolina.

superpeer 04-06-2007 08:57 PM

Pff, no way is Flav better than Chuck. What a sop thing to say.

superpeer 04-06-2007 09:30 PM

You go listen to power metal.

Rams 04-06-2007 10:46 PM

I am listening to Boondox. He has a song featuring ICP. And one with Twiztid. This guy has cred.

sgrevs 04-07-2007 02:38 AM

but is it any good rams?

How does it compare to their collab from the Shaft soundtrack?

Robert Crumb 04-07-2007 06:13 PM

Never heard that one. This one uses that one sample. You know, um, that one.

Also, UKG lol

Uterus Key Grinding!

ATM 04-07-2007 10:35 PM

The one from the Shaft soundtrack is so good, it's called Tough Guy. Andre really tears it up on that track.

Monticello 04-08-2007 02:23 PM

Lily Allen.....eurgh...

Classic Rap kicks all other rap into the ground, even if it does sound dated. You all heard of Rich Boy? He's the proof that new rap sucks. He can't even pronounce his A's.
I dunno, it's an opinion thing, I just don't like it, others might.
definitely an opinion thing, and i am in now way saying that this one artist is good, just that you can't say that everything from this genre sucks, because one artist does . . . i'm not a big fan of rap, especially not the popular kind, but your reasoning is pretty faulty . . .

Monticello 04-08-2007 03:21 PM

Yeah that's true, and I apologise, but all the rap music I've been seeing recently on TV is pretty similar to that.

I'd be very glad if anyone could prove me wrong.

then i accept said apology and declare a truce, i will try my best to prove you wrong . . . give me your e-mail, and i will compose an e-mail with a couple albums in it for you to check out, i'll have to upload them, so it might take a few days . . .

Rams 04-08-2007 03:39 PM

Rich Boy majored in mechanical engineering. So his criticism of adding D's has a design merit.

With that being said, I'm not convinced his forehead isn't annexing his face. It already has his eyes.
Has anyone heard the new Mark Ronson album? He covered a bunch of contemporary pop tracks with funk and Motown arrangements with guests like Lily Allen and whatnot. The former being horrible and the latter not being so horrible.

I got Mecca & The Soul Brother by Pete Rock & CL Smooth recently, it's been in my CD player non-stop. Great jazz-fused beats and brilliant lyrics from CL. Well worth checking out.

ATM 04-10-2007 05:11 PM

Yea that album is an absolute gem.
