Do you like the K Custom Ride? If so, buy it.
I do but Sabians are cheaper in Canada so if I can find a Sabian first, I would go with that. |
i was thinking of buying a new ride, dry but not too dry with lots of stickdef that u can crash and has a big bell
|
i was thinking of buying a new ride, dry but not too dry with lots of stickdef that u can crash and has a big bell
Sabian Hand Hammered Classic Ride. or the Hand Hammered Medium Ride. you can try the AAX stage ride but thats not really dry and doesnt really have a bell to it that is big. |

Paiste do rides like that. I thought the 2002 series do nice warm sounding rides. http://www.paiste.com/products/cymbals/2002_rides.php Possibly the Rock ride at the bottom. Check the sound samples |
ty i liked the full ride alot, and once i dont owe my dad $200 i think ill buy it
|
would it be worth it buying a 18" s series (wuhan) crash/ ride or crash???
Yes...but don't just order or buy "some 18" wuhan crash", listen to it first. Every wuhan cymbal sounds completely different. |
Every wuhan cymbal sounds completely different.
Every handmade cymbal in general sounds different :) |
Oh my god i think i am in love, today i went to a music shop and heard someone playing on some 14" Sabian AA Studio hats and it was like god was speaking to me...only in hi-hat form

no you damn infindel sinner! you are speaking to the wrong god! |
Yeah. ^^ Hes Right.
Sabian 14" stage hats are better. |
Anyone knows what Zildjian Ride cymbal Dave Weckl uses in his video: The next step?
Sounds so great. |
Yeah. ^^ Hes Right.
Sabian 14" stage hats are better.
Bullsh*t, with higher end cymbals, one cymbal isn't better than the other, cause it's all a matter of preference. |
Bullsh*t, with higher end cymbals, one cymbal isn't better than the other, cause it's all a matter of preference.
Yeah but most peoples' preferences are based on how much better one cymbal is over another |
but thats the ears that tell you what is better. quality wise, everything is equal
|
Bullsh*t, with higher end cymbals, one cymbal isn't better than the other, cause it's all a matter of preference.
you are wrong.... all professional hi-hats < New Beats |
Yeah. ^^ Hes Right.
Sabian 14" stage hats are better.
I love mine so much. |
Not really looking for cymbals, just some opinions.
Which do you guys think would make the best hi-hat and ride combination for very dynamic rock playing? Meaning playing moderately soft to loud volumes. I'm looking for cymbals that can cut through loud music, but are not over powering during the softer parts. 14" K Mastersound 14" A Mastersounds 22" K Custom Ride 22" A Ping Ride 22" A Medium ride All opinions are more then welcome. Thanks... |
^^^for your hi-hats. definitally New Beats
|
Thanks, but no thanks. New beats are indeed great, but not what I am looking for. What do you think about the two hi-hats I did have up there?
|
i want to get high end sabians, probably aax's, but i wont have the budget to individually select them. I havnt really listened to any of them but do you think the stage pack would be worth it??
|

I have it and I must say everything in it is great, once you play the hats you will fall in love. |
22" AA medium ride? too washy?
|
22" AA medium ride? too washy?
That actually is a very good ride. Go try it out |
That actually is a very good ride. Go try it out
i think i'll buy the pack in musicianfriends (hats, crash, ride and splash) then sell the 20" ride and buy a 22" ride :O:chug: |
22" AA medium ride? too washy?
nah not really. Its a good versatile ride. Try it out. The bell on that ride though is pretty nice. |
I'm in love with K Hats, but want lower pitched hats, but not dark, should i go 15" K Hats?
|

yes. |
Yes...but don't just order or buy "some 18" wuhan crash", listen to it first. Every wuhan cymbal sounds completely different.
the problem is, no one around me ( or in Aus to my knolege) stocks wuhan crashes. and i really wanna get an 18" |
^ur screwed
|
What does everyone think of the HHX Stage Crashes? Going to the shop soon to check them out but just wondering what peoples experiences with them are.
|
I'm on the market for a new ride cymbal. I own a Zildjian A Custom 20" Ping Ride at the moment but I find that it is to washy for my tastes. I really like the Paiste 2002 20" Ride but the bell is underwhelming - its only downside. Any suggestions for a ride that sounds like the 2002 but has a more powerful bell?
Thanks |
22" HH medium ride? too washY?
|
try it out.
|
try it out.
you can get it only by a special order, |
you can get it only by a special order,
Hmm, well that won't work out. Any other suggestions - primarily Paiste? |
try it out.
this is the cymbal thread. post info about it ,stop just tellin people to try it.
22" HH medium ride? too washY?
no it wont be too washy. should be quite versatile too. never have i heard a 22 though. just the 20's. |

no it wont be too washy. should be quite versatile too. never have i heard a 22 though. just the 20's.
yeah, i decided to go wheather for the AA package (hats, crash, ride and splash) then sell the 20" medium ride (i like big rides) and buy a 22" medium ride OR the HH package (hats, crash, ride) again sell the 20" medium ride and buy a 22" medium ride, i love jazz but i also love rock (zeppelin mostly) i have the idea that HH won't but trough when i'm playing with my band |
Its time for me to upgrade my crashes. Heres what I'm working with:
20" AAX Stage Ride (Brilliant finish) 14" AAX Stage Hats (Brilliant finish) 16" and 18" XS20 medium thin crashes (These are what I'm upgrading) I am pretty sure I want to get some AA Medium crashes in brilliant finish. I need help picking the right combination. Should I go with 17" and 19"? 16" and 18"? 17" and 18"? 18" and 19"? Its a hard decision. I don't want anything bigger than 19" or smaller than 16". Also, I am thinking about getting a china. What chinas would you guys suggest for my setup? I was thinking maybe an 18", 19", or 20" china, definitely AA or AAX. My GCs around here are really ****ty. They don't carry AAs in stock at all cause they say they don't sell good. So I can't hear these AAs in person. GC is about the only place to try-and-buy cymbals around here also. :( |
19" AAXtreme china. The sabian site doesn't do it much justice, though. So, listen to it in person if you can before you make any judgements.
|
id 17" aaxtreme china..contrasts extremely well should u decide to go with a wuhan also
for ur crashes, aaxplosions and stage crashes are great to try out. id go 17" aaxplosion and 19" stage crash (i think they go that size). yeah, GC is an ashwhore when not stocking something. they wont order something for u to try out because 'then u might not buy it' as if no1 else would with no sabian AAs, why cant u try out any zildjian As? |
