Hmm, there was a great Trio pit a Leeds Fest, but when I saw them at newcastle, all the scene kids stood around for anything that wasnt of Crimson. Me and my friends went nuts for Clavicle, but half the 12 years didn't even know it...

Pazz 04-02-2006 10:59 AM

I have stopped listening to Alkaline Trio. They were dominating my last.fm list for a while and I haven't listened to them in a long time.

Bad Blood 04-02-2006 01:25 PM

I haven't listneed to them properly for absolutely ages, but they're still top of my last fm by hundreds and hundreds :)

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-02-2006 02:58 PM

im listenin to them right now:p there one of my fav bands

pixiesfanyo 04-02-2006 04:32 PM

i hear alkaline trio is pretty bad live.

i am slowly getting back into them, but some of their material is just bad.

(see: Maybe I'll Catch Fire)

Ross 04-02-2006 04:32 PM

If only last.fm worked with SonicStage <_< Damn me and my idiocy in ripping everything to Atrac3.

I love a good pit. The funniest ones I often find begin with a good trampling of the 12-15 yr old scenesters, then end in a mad skanky beating where the fat guy gives you a massive sweaty hug.

You've heard wrong.

They played the crappiest venue I've ever been to and were good. I have higher expectations at this good venue.

.
So true. One of the best live bands I've seen, every time.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-03-2006 11:27 AM

i havent seen them live but have seen live videos. they are definitely not crap.

Maybe I'll Catch Fire is possibly their best album...

No way.

Radio is awesome, the title track is good but a lot of it lacks.

Well, the UK version is.
It features the normal 10 tracks, plus has bonus songs of This Is Getting Over You, I Lied My Face Off, Snake Oil Tanker and Goodbye Forever.
They really make it my favourite Alk3 cd to put on, although it really does depend on my mood.
My favourite varies, but more often than not, it's MICF.

oic. That's cool. Some of those bonus tracks are real good too.

I still prefer Crimson and GM though :-\

Oz Rembrandt 04-03-2006 01:03 PM

I love Trio albums. End of.

Permanent Solution 04-03-2006 01:10 PM

The older ones are growing on me, I used to see them as like 2.5-3/5 albums but I like them more now.

Oz Rembrandt 04-03-2006 01:13 PM

I love them in a different way to the newer stuff, because it is pretty different material.

ye i agree.. i couldnt decide a favourite album, they are all so amazing and as equally good

poprocks&coke 04-03-2006 03:52 PM

Goddamnit is my favourite :D

And when it comes to moshpits, it depends on:
1) How rough it is
2) What kind of shoes I'm wearing.

123, Boots FTW

Best pit was at SOAD last year when they played Sugar. It just sorta widened all the way through the song without any one doing anything but on "i sit...." WHAM everyone just charges to the centre.:chug:
I swear that was planned weeks beforehand :smash:

I'm Claustraphobic, so Mosh pits are usually a no-go, but it depends on the band. I've forced my fear outta the way for the Trio, and for some other bands.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-04-2006 10:25 AM

im going to see tool in june and then iron maiden ni december so im in for a few pits:p iv never been in one so i have no clue

Oz Rembrandt 04-04-2006 10:41 AM

Maiden is one pit. When I saw them, pits just happened at random, anywhere. I crowd surfed to the Trooper.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-04-2006 10:47 AM

everyone else has told me that there arnt really any (any mad ones anyway) at maiden

Get Fighted 04-04-2006 10:56 AM

Are you seeing them with Trivium? Because my mate said he is seeing them with Trivium at the MEN.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-04-2006 11:32 AM

yeah but im seeing them at the SECC in glasgow

Get Fighted 04-04-2006 11:37 AM

Rito.

Tool = probably not the best choice for your first ever pit. Unless you want it to be your last.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-04-2006 12:28 PM

uhh..ok now im ****tin myself lol. im in sittin anyway but we might try and get down to the standin bit

Ross 04-04-2006 04:30 PM

Jumping the barriers all the way.

If you do get down somehow, stand back till you get used to the feel of it all. And if you get caught up in it, flow with it. Going in trying to fight everyone you come across will:

a) make you real tired really fast
b) get you a roundhouse kick to the face.

Oz Rembrandt 04-04-2006 04:32 PM
b) get you a roundhouse kick to the face.
This is all true.

Ross 04-04-2006 04:38 PM

Yup. That happened when Oz went to see The Spice Girls and he just wasn't prepared for the pit there. He thought he'd seen it all after Slayer, but he was wrong...

poo-poo-pee-pee 04-05-2006 03:51 AM

Why does everyone always try to start fights in Moshes?

What happened to the good ol' days when people just jumped up n down, and occasionally ran around in a circle...?

And the best mosh I've ever been in was 'The Black Veil', by BCE...

It went OFF!

But I came home with one shoe...

Oz Rembrandt 04-05-2006 10:05 AM
Yup. That happened when Oz went to see The Spice Girls and he just wasn't prepared for the pit there. He thought he'd seen it all after Slayer, but he was wrong...
Still can't believe Slayer Supported the Spice Girls. That was immense.

Ross 04-05-2006 12:04 PM

Aye. On a similar vein, I can't believe MCR are allowed on the Main Stage at leeds/reading.

But... we're gonna have so much fun stamping on emos :D (even if the music sucks =p)

!MuDvAyNiAn! 04-05-2006 02:41 PM

MCR sucks ***!! i cant stand them. i didnt really plan on going straight in and fightin everyone at tool since im only 15 and quite small :p not a wimp either tho..

poprocks&coke 04-05-2006 03:26 PM
Still can't believe Slayer Supported the Spice Girls. That was immense.

/is picturing the situation.

When I saw the Trio, this guy jumped up on stage then stage dived, but the security guards grabbed him by the ankles as he did, so he smashed his face on the bar. Owwww.

Dead Star 04-05-2006 04:49 PM

Best pit I've been in was Less Than Jake.

And IMO Godammit is their worst album. Or my leats favourite anyway.

billiejoe84 04-07-2006 04:36 PM

LTJ pits = \m/

Although my best would be Capdown or Mad Caddies. See the ska link.

So other people are going to Leeds? This year, once and for all, we really should arrange an MX meet-up. It's been bandied about in previous years, and, curse my phone battery, almost happened last year, but I say we do it this time.

Yeah.
