listerine ice cream 10-06-2004 10:45 PM
You Fail Me(the song) is very nice. Sort of like a ballad, Converge style. Haven't listened much to the other songs on the album when I got hooked on it:p
You fail me is a great song, but its too slow.

Gotkookie 10-06-2004 11:13 PM
Haha. I'm going to minimum of like 5 shows this month.
5!!!, here your lucky to find 1

ANewKindOfArmy 10-06-2004 11:15 PM
You fail me is a great song, but its too slow.
There's no rule that says songs have to be fast. *blasts Neurosis*

Gotkookie 10-06-2004 11:22 PM

No, I mean just where they put it on the cd, makes it seem like it lasts forever....

BuddyBigsby 10-06-2004 11:25 PM

That's the beauty of it. At first I thought it should've been the last track, but then someone told me that would've been too Jane Doe-ish, and upon further thought, I agree.

Gotkookie 10-06-2004 11:27 PM

Did you know they had You fail me years ago, just never packaged it, I saw the 2002 tour on the dvd, and they played you fail me.

BuddyBigsby 10-06-2004 11:28 PM

Yeah, I knew that the song had been around, but I never got the DVD and was never able to get my hands on the .mp3 floating around on Soulseek, so I didn't hear it until the album came out.

Gotkookie 10-06-2004 11:30 PM

Idk it seems like it takes forever, I guess because the way "Last light" and "Black cloud" are so fast and chaotic, it seems like "You fail me" takes forever. They should have put "You fail me" after "Last light"

Emocorekid74 10-07-2004 12:32 PM

Satellite Years is so fucking epic.

listerine ice cream 10-07-2004 05:22 PM

I'd like them a lot more if it wasn't christian lyrics.

I know that their older stuff was christian, but their latest one, that isn't christian, is it?

Gotkookie 10-07-2004 05:52 PM

Ive been listening to hopesfall for over a year! Poser :p

40 oz 2 freedom 10-07-2004 05:55 PM

I got pwned :upset:

Silvermedalmafia 10-07-2004 05:58 PM

So yeah, some pop punk band called Kiros came to my school today. I am going to kill the guitarist and take his paul. My drummer is going to kill their drummer and take his kit, and my teacher who plays bass (really cool guy) is going to get the bass.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-07-2004 06:00 PM

Can I play the cow bell?

AndHagan3 10-07-2004 06:02 PM

Oh, I'm so hot and sweaty. Night time b-ball games really take it out of you.

Silvermedalmafia 10-07-2004 06:03 PM
Can I play the cow bell?
You would have to audition. Do you have any prior cowbelling experience?

Silvermedalmafia 10-07-2004 06:05 PM
Oh, I'm so hot and sweaty. Night time b-ball games really take it out of you.
Is it from b-ball or is it from the shower afterwards?

Anyhoo, I am off to make some dinner before my hockey practise. Mashed potatoes and pork chops, an odd combo but i can make it work.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-07-2004 06:08 PM
You would have to audition. Do you have any prior cowbelling experience?
Yes, I played Cowbell for Bruce Springsteen.

So, are they christian anymore?

listerine ice cream 10-07-2004 06:24 PM

!

cbmartinez 10-07-2004 06:26 PM

Why does it matter if they are Christian? I don't believe The Satellite Years is Christian.

listerine ice cream 10-07-2004 06:28 PM
Why does it matter if they are Christian? I don't believe The Satellite Years is Christian.
I don't believe in christianity, and I like to know the lyrics to songs.

cbmartinez 10-07-2004 06:29 PM

Not liking a band as much because their Christian is idiotic.

listerine ice cream 10-07-2004 06:32 PM

I just don't like the idea of religion with music. But hey, I like what I heard I admit, its just that I would like them BETTER if they didn't use religion in their lyrics.

I never said that I didn't like them, I just said I'd like them better.

cbmartinez 10-07-2004 06:35 PM

Their belief in Christianity is so strong that they can write beautiful songs and scream brutal lyrics all while "worshipping/respecting" God. I would respect and like a band more if they are able to do that. I find it very easy to draw inspiration from religion to write lyrics.

You have your reasons for liking it, and I'm sure they are better than my reasons for not. And thats cool.
