I'm digging Camper Van Beethoven. I used to think they were just like, novelty rock, because of songs like Take the Skinheads Bowling. But I picked up their album Key Lime Pie, and it's really good... not novelty at all, they're just really good songs.

br3ad_man 01-02-2005 10:28 PM

Iai 01-04-2005 05:15 AM

Today I have been mostly digging Bloc Party, Sublime, Adam F, and Morphine.

It is, however, only 11.10 in the morning.

Tapeworm 01-04-2005 07:05 AM

I started listening to QOTSA again today, and I decided that if my band does happen to play any cover, it will be a Queens song.

Pffft...thats soooo 2004.

This morning I've been listening to nothing but MF Doom's "MM Food".

Luxor 01-04-2005 02:02 PM

I've listened to "Remain In Light" every day while falling asleep for the past 4 days. It's an awesome album.

Zappa 01-04-2005 03:41 PM

Yesterday I was looking for happy bubbly stuff, so I listened to T. Rex and the The Zombies. Fantastic choices.

The Ashtray Girl 01-04-2005 04:26 PM

I reacquainted myself with my love for Damien Rice today. It was great.

Tangy zizzle 01-04-2005 04:33 PM
I've been diggin' the fact that Stephon Marbury won Player of The Week.
Starbury. I din' know you were a balla, Tang.

I'm enjoying Bad Brains, Antibalas and Eric Mingus right now.

Tangy zizzle 01-04-2005 08:48 PM

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge basketball fan right here. And, as previously noted, I'm a Marbury fan (and any team which he is playing for at the time).

Today:

Cursive - The Ugly Organ (has been played a good 3 times)
Hot Snakes - all albums suckaaasss.

Happymeal 01-04-2005 08:57 PM

I'd go with Mike Bibby but the Kings majorly suck nowadays. I'm sticking with teh Nuggets.

I'm also majorly interested in hearing Fela Kuti, I'm trying to dl their stuff as well.

Tangy zizzle 01-04-2005 09:02 PM

Fela Kuti was a dude, not a band.

If you say you like his work, you probably don't, it's kinda hard to get into (well that's what i found). His albums are so overlooked it's not funny.

Tangy zizzle 01-04-2005 09:03 PM

I am teh 1337 man, I am teh 1337 man.

I sing songs, songs from the bong.

Happymeal 01-04-2005 09:05 PM

^^^^^^

/obligatory freakout

I'm listening to a bunch of Howard Devoto solo stuff I managed to get my hands on, It's okay.

Tangy zizzle 01-04-2005 09:14 PM

Happymeal, no worries, just listen to his music. If you can get past the whole african thing, then you'll probably dig it.

Zappa 01-04-2005 10:28 PM

You're acting like Fela's music is from outerspace. It's got a universal groove, as far as I can tell.

br3ad_man 01-05-2005 01:23 AM

I saw one of his records in the jazz section the other day. Is that an accurate classification?

Zappa 01-05-2005 05:22 AM

He's is from Africa, so is there is a strong element of traditional African music to his material. However, it is also very jazzy and at times funky.

Tapeworm 01-05-2005 09:10 AM

I've been digging the only two good Elvis songs I've ever heard:

"Crying in the Chapel"
"You Made Me A Mountain"

So good.

pixiesfanyo 01-05-2005 10:11 AM
