Divus De Mortuus is really good, Ken. Awesome vocals.

Angmar 07-18-2007 05:32 PM

OK, I'll make a point to check those out.

Dargon II 07-18-2007 05:43 PM
Also, you might want to at least get your hands on their Skull Full of Maggots Demo.
despite my rampant CC bashing, that demo is actually pretty cool.

LifeInABox 07-18-2007 05:46 PM

Why don't you like them, Dargon?

Dargon II 07-18-2007 05:50 PM

becuase they're absurdly cliched gimmicky dumbed-down death metal aimed at a 11-13 year old demographic, and because nothing they have ever released is worthy of any great fuss, but they are currently the biggest selling death metal band of all time.

For once I am going to agree with Dargon. It drives me nuts how everyone gets such a chubby over CC.

Tyler 07-18-2007 06:30 PM

CC is a brand. I've said it before, I'm too tired to explain it again.

While that may be true, I still enjoy the music. I recently picked up the re-release of "The Bleeding" and its good stuff.

I also got these, arguably, death metal related albums:

Dark Tranquility - Fiction
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
Despised Icon - The Ills Of Modern Man
Meshuggah - Nothing (with re-recorded guitars!!)
Thine Eyes Bleed - In The Wake Of Separation
Faceless - Akeldama

Poofy 666 07-18-2007 07:10 PM

Fiction is the only listenable album you got.

C.O.A. 07-18-2007 07:12 PM

and Nothing.

unless meshuggah is not your type of thing .

Dimmu Burger 07-18-2007 07:16 PM
Fiction is the only listenable album you got.
The new Darkest Hour and Meshuggah's Nothing are both great albums. I haven't listened to the others yet.

Tyler 07-18-2007 07:16 PM

The new DH is pretty good, yeah. Meshuggah sucks.

Dimmu Burger 07-18-2007 07:17 PM
Meshuggah sucks.
You don't like them at all? Not even respect them?

Poofy 666 07-18-2007 07:18 PM

Meshuggah is an average band at best, and Nothing is not a good album. The only good song they have done is Future Breed Machine, everything else is boring.

Listen to Coprofago instead.

C.O.A. 07-18-2007 07:18 PM
The new DH is pretty good, yeah. Meshuggah sucks.
yeah, well some people just don't get it i guess.

meshuggah is a love/hate band.

Tyler 07-18-2007 07:19 PM
You don't like them at all? Not even respect them?
Why would I respect them? They can't even write a decent song.

Dargon II 07-18-2007 07:22 PM

those are all complete and utter garbage in addition to not even being death metal. get out.

C.O.A. 07-18-2007 07:26 PM

wow are you serious dude?

Tyler 07-18-2007 07:27 PM

hey let's run in circles some more that's cool.
those are all complete and utter garbage in addition to not even being death metal. get out.
That's why I said "arguably". And if I want to discuss a band that doesn't fit into a particular genre i'm just gonna pick the closest one.

Poofy 666 07-18-2007 07:28 PM

lol

srsly though, Coprofago is what Meshuggah would sound like if they could write songs.

Tyler 07-18-2007 07:29 PM
lol

Coprofago is way better than their name would have you believe. I sort of like the newest Textures album too.

If anything, Meshuggah deserves nothing but insults because now we have a bunch of shitty metalcore bands trying to be all meshuggahcore with their shitty polyrhythms and lack of anything that's actually interesting.

WHy bother playing 4/4 with your hands and 39/16 with your feet if you can't even write one solid hook. Seriously.

C.O.A. 07-18-2007 07:31 PM

alright dude, i'm not going to argue over this because there is no point, so back to dm discussion.

anybody like liers in wait? i just got their Spiritually Uncontrolled Art EP pretty good shit. too bad they didn't last.

Dargon II 07-18-2007 07:31 PM

oh, those bands all fit into a particular genre. Here's the forum for it:

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=116

knock yourself out, kid.

Liers in Wait is pretty boring tekkie stuff, very overrated.

Dimmu Burger 07-18-2007 07:32 PM

I'd say someone who can write a 21 minute song and a 47 minute song can certainly write a song.

Poofy 666 07-18-2007 07:32 PM

haha, Shit Eater is a great name, I don't know what you are talking about :p
I'd say someone who can write a 21 minute song and a 47 minute song can certainly write a song.
lol worst argument ever

Song length =/= song writing skills

by those standards Sunn o))) are the best song writers in the entire universe

Tyler 07-18-2007 07:34 PM
I'd say someone who can write a 21 minute song and a 47 minute song can certainly write a song.
I could write a four hour song. That doesn't mean it'll be good.

Dargon II 07-18-2007 07:34 PM
I'd say someone who can write a 21 minute song and a 47 minute song can certainly write a song.
so if I record 45 minutes of me chugging random wigger chords and invisible-ninja-fighting pinch harmonicz, I'll be a good songwriter?

the sheer idiocy expressed in this thread is unceasingly amazing.

Dimmu Burger 07-18-2007 07:36 PM
I could write a four hour song. That doesn't mean it'll be good.
I didn't mean it like that, but I enjoy both of those songs. Its not the kind of music that is meant to have catchy songs. Its for arts sake I guess.

Dargon II 07-18-2007 07:37 PM
I didn't mean it like that, but I enjoy both of those songs. Its not the kind of music that is meant to have catchy songs. Its for arts sake I guess.
good ****ing god, will the idiocy ever end?
