Okay, I need some recommendations guys!!!

First, what is the best Fugazi album? I heard 13 Songs is great.

And more importantly, what is the best Carcass album?

James Howlett 06-29-2005 07:13 AM

Don't know the 'best' Carcass album cuz I only have Heartwork but thats an amazing piece of work.

I just heard In the court of the Crimson King by King Crimson. Could someone recomend me some other stuff by them.

live theory 06-29-2005 07:15 AM
I dont know about Nirvana, but Megadeth's Rust in Peace is a must own.
Nivana- Self titled

live theory 06-29-2005 07:19 AM

My reccomendations are Afi- The art of Drowning
System of a down- Self Titled
Rancid- and Out come the wolves
Anything by led zeppelin and black sabbath.
The New Saosin album, and while you're there
the new circa survive album.

Okay, so I think Rush is okay. They don't do much for me, but when I watch Neil play I'm still amazed and want to learn what he's playing. So, what do you guys think is the album with the best drumming?

Metallica and Slayer are pretty much the only speed/thrash bands I listen to. I have tried to get into Megadeth, but I just can't for some reason. Can someone reccomend some good thrash bands/albums for me?

Megadeth (check out Rust in Peace and Killing is my Business)
Anthrax - Spreading the Disease and Among the Living
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Destruction - The Antichrist
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Testament - The Legacy
Coroner - Punishment for Decadence

There's some essentials to get you started. If you want song recommendations, just ask. Oh yeah, check out Heathen, you can download their first two albums at http://www.heathenmetal.com

Stoic 07-01-2005 05:53 AM

Bartender 07-01-2005 07:29 AM

You're supposed to request things yourself, or else answer other peoples specific requests. Not just randomly recommend stuff.

For Meshuggah, Destroy Erase Improve is a great album. I has its moments too. Chaosphere is decent, but get the others first. As for similar bands, check out Dillinger Escape Plan if you haven't already. And although many will probably disagree, I think a lot of Nevermore's riffing is similar to Meshuggah's.
