Arif doesn't have much to say on stage, trust me. He used to talk a lot more at gigs and he'd get lost in his words. He's probably the most willing to chat after shows though. Rody is the frontman for a reason.
They dropped the tour for professionalism's sake, buddeh.
Professionalism at it's peak: http://a134.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/88/l_e9ae0d3575d6fc1a529b2e304e321c8d.jpg That picture illustrates Rody so well. |
A monster truck shirt and what looks like Shiner Bock.
Is he in the South? |

Is he in the South?
I guess, I hear he likes the South.
Bonus points for the new opening song on this tour being limb from limb!
It's probably because it sounds like it's one of the hardest songs to do. He's got some serious vocal work going in that song, Åkerfeldt esque death grunts right before he belts out "Flidais rides again." |
I guess, I hear he likes the South.
For some reason, I have to doubt that unless he has some very specific reasons. And I think Akerfeldt is a big stretch. |
ok, so earlier today i was listening to Fortress in my car and i have decided that Fortress>Kezia
|
I just downloaded their A Calculated Use of Sound EP and it's really good, anybody else like it?
|
I love it for personal reasons. It's lacking at parts but given their age it rules. I Am Dmitri is the best thing the've written.
|
how old were they? 18?
|
Closer to 16
|
better than black tide's **** at that age
|
Closer to 16
wow, thats damn good music for their age |

I have a hard time listening to it because Kezia and Fortress are soooooo much better. Its a lot different too. Reminded me of old System Of A Down for some reason. |
A Calculated Use of Sound > Fortress
yeah that's right I went there what are you gonna do about it |
A Calculated Use of Sound > Fortress

the EP was better before they remastered it and threw Soft Targets awkwardly in the middle.

Seconded. |

Interesting, I sent a friend their myspace link before they posted any songs off of Fortress and he said generally the same thing. |
I never felt myself that soft targets was out of place, It still has the same feel as most of ACUOS. Guess i never really over analyzed that album though, just thought it was a small bummer that it wasn't in the lyric sheet for the remastered edition.
Re: Limb from limb being the first song on this tour; i thought opening with the intro when touring a better choice. Gives fans time to get all ammped up and eases(maybe) folks who never heard of PTH before a minuet before the onslaught begins. |

No kidding? I think just the way the vocals are goofy sounding and the political stuff. |

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Serj Tankian, at one time or another, wanted to add a stupid little addition like "Wooh! Shake it down!" to the vocals on one of their tracks and it got shot down. Come to think of it I don't know why Juice allowed it on Fortress. |

You don't think a song written over a year after ACUOS being thrown in the middle of the tracklisting on a re-release is out of place? Soft Targets, while enjoyable, was a throwaway track they wrote long after the EP came out so there'd be a semi-recent song on an Underground Operations sampler. It is a total throw-away. It sounds out of place because it is out of place. I still know pretty much all the lyrics by heart so lemme know if you need to know any.
Come to think of it I don't know why Juice allowed it on Fortress
Personality. Allows Rody to put some of himself into words that arent his own on music that he didnt have much of a part in writing. Plus it lightens the load a little, it helps the balance of fun and serious. |
You've got me there, that does seem like something Rody would do.
|
Closer to 16
Yea, they were still in and continued to go to high school. Jeeeesh |
They were still in high school during Kezia as well, though "still in high school" is used loosely considering how often they were on the road.
|
Fukkin eh
I think I still like Kezia more than Fortress. |
Fukkin eh
I think I still like Kezia more than Fortress.
I don't. They're both amazing albums, but I think Fortress just has a better sound to it. Plus Sequoia Throne is on there. I love that song. |
/making a hip hop sequoia throne remix
|
Well Fortress is obviously the best sounding album. As for the best written album, I'm not 100% sure on that.
