hmmmm..
|
I thought against me were metal
EDIT: Actually, if you were reffering to how overrated both albums are, you'd be correct. |
Searching for a Former Clarity is their best work. Its the London Calling of modern day punk.
Brilliant! |

Clash blows Against Me! out of the park. Even bands that made fun of Clash praised them. |
As the Eternal Comboy is their best album.
|
ABF is right.
|
Whey.
RAR always used to be, but i've found it to get a little tiring while as ATEC never gets old. Every song is amazing. |
Both albums have their strong and weak songs. I think ATEC is more uniformly good, but RAR has four or five of their best songs.
|
That's pretty much it.
|
well ATEC is certainly my favorite
and Searching For a Former Clarity is boring imo |
I still love it.
RAR has 7 or so amazing songs but there are a few average ones too; like scream it until your coughing up blood and the politics of starving. |
I still love it.

Also, RAR had several shittier versions of some songs in my opinion, like I Still Love You Julie and Walking Is Still Honest. I thought the Crime versions of those songs were better. |
The best songs on RAR are easily better than the best songs on ATEC.
|
ATEC:
TSR Cliche Guevara Sink Florida Sink Turn Those Clapping Hands... RAR: Pints Of Guiness Make You Strong I Still Love You Julie Scream It Until You're Coughing Up Blood Those Anarcho Punx Are Mysterious Reinventing Axl Rose Walking Is Still Honest The ones are RAR are essentially my top 6. |
ATEC:
T.S.R Sink Florida Sink Unsubstantiated Rumours Angry Balled Fists () Then, Slurring the Rhythms, Rice and Bread and You Look Like I Need A Drink are all on par with me. RAR: Pints of Guinness... Reinventing Axl Rose I Still love You Julie Jordans First Choice Those Anarcho Punx... Walking Is Still honest Overall, i prefer listening to ATEC because of the quality, it's faster and sharper etc. But RAR has the big guns like the underlined songs. |
I saw them play at Warped...
I was dissapointed... |
RAR is way better than ATEC.
ATEC is the first Against Me! I heard and it's an amazing album. It will always hold a dear place in my heart. RAR changed my entire outlook on punk and the state of things. RAR influences my musical career more than any other album out there. It's straight up one of the best things ever written by anyone on the planet. ATEC is an amazing album, but RAR is still better. |
i was and i wasnt. i wasnt because they played a good show but i was becasue they only played one song from rar.
|
:( Sorry Jack but I can't exactly be like
Kevin: Yo Emily, can my dirty street punx friend oi oi oi oi come along with us and stay the night at your sister's? Emily: No. Skinhead Kav: OIIIiiiiiiii
Kev, I don't have to stay at anyones sisters. Just meet me before, and we'll hang, and I'll get in for free with your secret passes.
they're better than you. i got Tom's plectrum :D
Plectrum. You music dork. |
ATEC is a collection of songs
SfaFC is an album. Its meant to be listened to as a whole, not song for song. thats the only way you can possibly grasp the concept and go on the journey. I love all three albums, but Clarity is just brilliant in the most extreme sense of the word. |
....right
|
I saw them play at Warped...
I was dissapointed...
I expect to be. If not because of the setlist, because of the crowd/atmosphere. |
The crowd when I saw them was pretty cool. The setlist was mediocre, only song from RAR was Pints of Guiness
|
I got to the warped tour fifteen minutes too lates to see them. :( They were the reason I went.
|
They exceeded my expectations when i saw them for their own show, and i had really high expectations.

I don't know shit about a journey, nor do I care. My punk rock isn't about journeys. They really fell apart as far as a driving force for the band goes. They just lost it. |
They were amazing when I saw them headlining back in the fall. It was one of the best shows I have ever been to.

The thing about Against Me! before they released that **** was that every single second of every song held more passion than most people have ever heard out of a band. Every lyric and chord held more meaning than most of the music we listen to. SFAFC lacked everything that is Against Me! and as such a big fan I'm honestly ashamed that they put that out. |

That really sucks. |
