ive never hear either of them. are they good?
|
Never heard the Tossers. Flatliners are good.
|
the Tossers are like Flogging Molly/Dropkick Murphy
|
these streetlight/aquabats shows must be pretty cool, i've never seen the aquabats live but it must be amusing to watch if anything
|
catch-22
the tossers the flatliners patent pending $12 yay or nay?
Yay, mainly because of The Tossers and The Flatliners. Plus, Catch 22 would still be fun to skank to, amirite? |

It's amusing for like 5 minutes until you realize that the Aquabats are bad and annoying. |
Out of boredum, lets take a vote: In the song Here's To Life, which chorus do you like better? BOTAR or Streetlight Manifesto's? Try not to be bias(I dont think i will notice if you are or not). Try to think which one flows more smoothly, is more catchy, has better lyrics, etc.
Im going with Botar's because I think it is more catchy. Streetlight's has it's pluses also, of course. |
BOTAR's version, because I heard it first. Streetlight's sounded wierd because of that. Still good, but wierd.
|
I'm happy because my "band" is going to play Madness - One Step Beyond in the battle of the bands.
We're also playing Estradasphere, Herbie Hancock, Moondog, and Frank Zappa. It's exciting. |

I'm feeling the same way, but the other way around. But after listening to both versions in a row I stand with my first thought. I also like the streetlight lyrics better. Don't really understand the botar lyrics too. Bonus info: this thread has reached 100 pages. |
You guys hit on other things Ive thought about the choruses that I didnt really want to say because I wanted fresh thoughts. I heard BOTAR version first and thought it went well but that I didnt really get the content of it. The Streetlight one I thought was more akward but that I understood the connection of the lyrics better.

streetlight because i heard it first and the above reasons are true but for SM.
botARS is good, just not what i was used to. |
Quite an interesting mix there.
Also, who let you out of the DIY thread again?
The question should've been "why does your post have nothing to do with catch, streetlight, or botar?" My answer? I thought this was the ska thread. |
Haha. Ok.
|
Streetlight is Skemo?
|
No wai.
|
whats with all this azn spelling?
|
damn it. I just read in this local paper that Catch 22 had a free show here on the 21st that i missed.
:upset: |
You didn't really miss anything :)
|
considering it was free then it sounds like he missed it.
|
I would love to see catch 22, even though I have heard they aren't that good live.
|
Iv heard they're really good. Maybe thats just cause we are used to canadian ska?
|
why are these 3 bands grouped together in this thread.
|
why are these 3 bands grouped together in this thread.
Tomas Kalnoky basically was the mastermind behind all of them (well for catch 22 the keasbey nights era) is was i'm guessing. |
why are these 3 bands grouped together in this thread.
They share members. Namely Tomas Kalnoky. |
I see Catch 22 Saturday.
*Excited* |

They all have the same band leader. Hey guys, that's cool at the end of 1234 1234, the M'festo version, they have those computer voices talking, do you know what they're saying? I know it has to do with the cover album but that's all I can hear... Catch 22 still tours? Who sings with them? |
Earlier in the thread it is mentioned what is being said. The CD was released March 7th? so id check the early March posts and see.
|
It's actually probably mid-late february. We had it a bit earlier than the release date:)
The sax and trumpet player sing poorly when Catch tours. When I saw them a few weeks ago they only played a 3 songs each off of Alone and Keasby. The rest were split between new songs and Dinosaur. If the Flatliners and the Loved Ones hadn't been so good... |
