Okay, I need suggestions on crashes. I've narrowed my searching down to a few things. I like thesabian aax dark crash and the aa medium thin. So any suggestions along those lines (something dark) would be great. And in the price range as well. Thanks.

What type of music do you play? I am gonna recommend K Custom Dark Crashes for a dark cymbal, hence the name, but their volume isn't great. Possible a large A Custom Medium or Projection crash? Maybe a Z Custom if you are looking for volume.
Look into Paiste Dimensions, AAX and AA, K custom Dark, A custom Medium/Projection, Z custom.
I'm Thinking of getting A custom Projection cymbals (20 ride, 18 crash, 18(non projection), and A custom 13 mastersound hats.
I currently have ZXT Titaniums... I know i know,.,,
But i play punk(blink) and i also have a grindcore band...
Any suggestions welcome.
What cymbals would you sugest that would be great for both styles?
thx,
A Sweet Ride, A 17" AA Medium Crash, AAX 17" Stage Crash, AAX Stage Hats, I think that should work.

Ok, I'm hoping to buy a 19" A Custom Medium Crash when I go to America (tomorrow!), but in the sceanrio that it is not in stock (I have emailed the Guitar Centre nearest asking for it to be in stock, they haven't replied). So basically, looking for a cymbal that will be similar to the 19" ACM. I'm thinking along the lines of 19" or 20" A custom crashes.
Would an 18" K Custom Dark crash not have the same volume?
My budget will be about $230.

Bloodlust 10-12-2005 01:19 PM

im looking for a new crash and hi-hats. I play pop-punk, punk and some hardcore. Some of my favorite bands are fall out boy, green day, senses fail, AFI, alkaline trio, rise against etc. I was looking at the zildjian A series, but i don't really know much about sabian cymbals. Any suggestions?

Quick story

Today at guitar center, I hit a ride without looking at what it was, and immediately thought "**** that thing sounds nice!" I look at it, and it is of course, my 20" K Custom Ride. God I love this thing.

Interesting story. Do you usually randomly hit cymbals at GC :p

thats the best way to do it. so then you arent lured by the look or brand of the cymbal.

Brokensticks 10-14-2005 01:14 AM

True, I thought of that afterwards.... Seriously.. Im not just saying it because you did.

How's the 16" K Custom Special Dry Crash work out as a main crash? All I've got for crashes right now is a 14" AAX Studio.

How ya doin?

Im looking for a Zildjian Crash Cymbal that is loud, cuts through, and can take a beating....if you havent guest yet i play Punk Rock. A cymbal good enough to be used as a beatkeeper (but not craSHING A RIDE).

most cymbals can take a "beating" as long as you arent wailing on it like you want to kill it in a stupid manner. Id say a good crash would be an A custom medium crash. or an A series rock crash.

Aaron 10-15-2005 09:51 PM

20" A Custom Medium or an A Crash-Ride

should be fine for a low colume crash. i wouldnt imagine it would be the most versatile thing though

Epiphender 10-17-2005 04:29 PM

Well...right now I'm using a 14" AAX Studio for my main crash. It's...all I have. :(

Maggot Dream 10-18-2005 11:51 PM

OK, I'm looking for a ride cymbal. I play classic/prog rock and jazz. I like a ride with a clean, crisp sound, with a clear bell. Preferably not too heavy. So far, I've looked at the Zildjian A Custom Ping Ride 20" and the Sabian Vault Artisan Medium Ride. I'm leaning towards the Sabian right now, but I'm still looking. Any ideas?

Seafroggys 10-18-2005 11:54 PM

i would go for Zildjian As and Sabian AAs, rather than A Custom and Vaults. As and AAs have better rides IMO.

I Like the genres you play. Jazz, classic, and prog rock are my favorite genres! :thumb:
