you should upload this set bro!
Right on. What are the kids using these days? Does Megaupload still work?

I have the released Winterland Box Set (11/9, 11/10 and 11/11) so I can get you the "official" copy (shhhhhhh).

Here we go:
I definitely like megaupload more than rapidshare or any of the others.

Lunch 06-04-2009 01:32 PM

Yea, it's working nicely. I haven't uploaded anything in a long time. Remember it used to be all the rage? We had the mailing list and everything. Good times

jpj 06-04-2009 02:36 PM

Yea, those were the days. Most of my music came from people on this site.

barbarian 06-04-2009 06:41 PM

i've been listening to solar circus quite a bit lately. these guys had some fun. i wonder if anyone recorded their reunion show from a couple months ago. i'd like to hear that.

here they are jamming with of all people bruce springsteen the day after we lost jerry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA7vTOYdQKk

robo2448 06-05-2009 05:25 PM

yeah i got a whole bunch of great stuff from those old ysi threads... good times indeed.

I saw NRPS last night which was a good show. David Nelson and Buddy Cage are still playing well and the band sounds great together. A tribute band for The Band opened and was fantastic, even though their name, The The Band Band was pretty dumb. The show was at a pretty fancy club in new york so we kind of figured we wouldn't be able to smoke inside. We were wrong, and of course with NRPS everyone was smoking constantly. We planned ahead though, and made some edibles that kicked in during The The Band Band's set and got me absurdly high, so the opening set was really fun. I just love The Band, their songs are just the best and the cover band played them very well. Great setlist- This Whee's On Fire, The Shape I'm In, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Up On Cripple Creek, Stage Fright, King Harvest, Ophelia, I Shall Be Released, It Makes No Difference, W.S. Walcott Medicine Show, Life Is A Carnival, Chest Fever, The Weight... maybe even one or two more. They got better as they kept playing too, which is probably why their set was extended a little bit. I was pretty impressed and I'd definitely see them again.

NRPS were about as good as I expected. They have a new cd out which I bought at the show and they played a bunch off that, some of which are incredible and others not so much. In particular, check out the tune "Down The Middle" from the new album, beautiful lyrics by Robert Hunter. Played a bunch of old classics too that were all done well. Nelson in particular was in great shape, his guitar was really loud which was nice because he's just got such an interesting lead style. Anyways, you guys should check out the new riders if they're in your area- still good music and a real fun time...

Also sometime I gotta get around to writing a full mountain jam review but i'm too lazy to write that now.

jpj 06-06-2009 12:02 PM

Do any of you guys have Live Phish 13? I've been looking high and low for it.

robo2448 06-06-2009 12:47 PM

^I have it... i never really listen to it because their cover of the white album kinda sucks but i can upload it for you if you want.

jpj 06-06-2009 12:52 PM

Going to see Ozric Tentacles tonight! Not exactly jam but should be excellent. Haven't heard any of their material from basically the last 10-15 years so I don't know what to expect.

joshmay 06-14-2009 04:06 PM

dont get TOO high buddy! haha

well my story for the weekend is my friend went down to bonnaroo yesterday and ended up getting two free wristbands. i stayed here and woke up to a busted water heater and water standing all through the house this morning. bummer, but at least i know he'll bring some goodies back!

Broken Arrow 06-15-2009 07:04 PM

Yeah I had eight friends that went down this year, I was supposed to be there as well but after a misfortunate incident I am no longer welcome across the border. :(

robo2448 06-15-2009 07:38 PM

that sucks. i probably could've gone to bonnaroo but it would have been my one major spending thing for the summer. Instead I decided to go to the much cheaper and closer Mountain Jam and a bunch of other shows. I'm probably going to the Clearwater Music Festival next weekend which is like twenty minutes from me and put together by Pete Seeger. Not any jambands except Cornmeal but it's a pretty good lineup with Seeger, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Old Crow Medicine Show, Grace Potter, Taj Mahal, Alejandro Escovedo and others along with Cornmeal. Good price too, only 90 bucks for 2 days.

jpj 06-16-2009 12:27 AM

Saw a free Robert Randolph show on Friday. It was the first time I'd seen him and damn does he put on a good show.

Phish on Thursday :D

sonictheplumber 06-16-2009 12:51 AM

Free Assembly of Dust/Phish Download!

Hey everyone, I am a member of Assembly of Dust's street team. If
you don't already know AOD they are a jam band and they are giving away the track ³Arc of the Sun² featuring Mike Gordon (of Phish) on their site http://www.aodust.com! Its worth giving a listen to! AOD is giving away a new track every Tuesday until July 14th featuring artists like Jerry Douglas, John Scofield, Richie Havens, Al Schnier and more! Again sorry if this feels spammy but I was
eager to share the news
-Lynn

robo2448 06-16-2009 10:00 AM

Damn jpj have fun at Phish. I am regretting not trying to see them. From pictures and videos, the light shows look like the best lights you can find at a concert anywhere. I almost feel like it would be worth going just for that.

Fortunately with the new album and all, it looks like this won't be a one and done kinda tour and i'll catch them in the winter, spring, next summer... sometime cause they're definitely not done.

MOEvaughn 06-18-2009 01:27 PM

moe. - Rock Band/Guitar Hero?

Has anyone heard anything about moe. being featured on the upcoming version of Rock Band or Guitar Hero???

robo2448 06-18-2009 04:45 PM

Phish was amazing last night, incredible set list.

Opened with Golgi Apparatus, Chalkdust Torture, Bouncing Around the Room, and Wolfman's Brother. It Doesn't get much better than that. Second set opened with Down with Disease>Free, also had a great Squirming Coil>You Enjoy Myself, and they encored with Bike (the Pink Floyd song).

Blew my mind.

robo2448 06-19-2009 10:00 PM

that sounds like fun.

Ghostfire3 06-20-2009 10:04 AM

Oooh, sounds like a blast. My friend's just went up to Wisconsin. They're going to the Alpine Valley show Sunday.

Peace.

robo2448 06-22-2009 08:44 PM

Speaking of festivals, I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to go to Gathering Of The Vibes. What do you guys think of the lineup? http://gatheringofthevibes.com/2009/2009+band+lineup

It's weaker than last year but CSN, Levon, Ratdog, DSO, etc. is probably enough to have a pretty good time...

jpj 06-22-2009 10:02 PM

I'd go for George Clinton & P-Funk.

snorfledumpkins 06-23-2009 02:10 PM

Saw Phish this last weekend for the Alpine run. It was my first two Phish shows ever and the best concerts I've ever been to. Absolutely amazing. Had chills going down my spine all the time and danced my *** off, really fun time. Judging by these two shows, they're definitely back!

Trey's soloing was epic, beautiful, funky, and face melting all at the same time, and page played the best keyboard solos i've ever heard come out of his fingers. Jon played in top form, and Mike even had a couple super funky bass solos.
