Like I said in my other post, Hatebreed, along with other metalcore bands take the hardcore formula and add upon it elements of metal, such as: double bass, speed picking, Swedish inspired riffage, etc. Go listen to Slayer, and then listen to Hatebreed, and tell me with a straight face you don't hear influence.

I don't really either. The only thing that really makes them metal to me is the low tunings. They're borderline in my eyes. I wouldn't cast stones at anyone for calling them metalcore, and same goes for calling them hardcore.

IMO, Glass Casket and BTBAM = Grindcore/Metalcore

about hatebreed, i really don't think "satisfaction is the death of desire" would be considered metalcore. "rise of brutality" does however have a lot of metal elements, so i'd call that cd metalcore. and buddy was right, they aren't a tough guy band. their music may resemble it, but a lot of their lyrics are very positive.
