On one of the metallica tribute cds, there is a cover of batttery with rob trujillo aat bass. Maybe thats why he was so good when he played battery at his audition

Sandtrap 04-14-2005 07:21 PM

sorry to change the subject...but I think everyone who tries to roast metal should have to listen to atleast one full song. Most of the people who think metallica sucks havent even heard a metallica song...and if they did probably not the entire thing. Its really lame to do that kinda stuff and say that kinda stuff when you dont even know what your talking about.
I made sure that before I said rap and hip-hop was all bout drugs and ****ing hoes I listened to a few popular rap and hip-hop songs. IT was hell but I did it before I judged and I came to the conclusion that not all rap is like that...but most is.
I just hate it when people judge before they know what there talking about. thats a thing I really cant stand.

i agree! when i say to people i'm going to listen to metallica they all say "ew." i ask "so have you ever heard metallica? like besides enter sandman?" and what do they say?

...no.

ok so i make some listen and they realize it's not as bad as they thought.

and yes, rap songs are mostly about hoes and drugs

nope, wrong.
mainly rap is just about doing cool black things ranging from slappin hoes, to chilling to throwing partys to 'how we roll' etc. its all one big sub-category

And normally at a party, or when "they roll" there's hoes and drugs involved.

I made a deal with a friend once that i woyuld listen to an entire rap song if they listened to a metallica song and i could'nt do it so i played battery really loud over the rap.

honeslty dude you should have made him hear something like Sanitarium, FTB, or MOP man, something more metallica-defining

hahahaha thats funny...but I know what you mean! there is almost nothing musical about rap. Ive heard countless rap songs and I cant find anything I like in any of them.
Althought I must say that the new Nelly song with McGraw isnt so bad. I can stand it but I wouldnt listen to it if I didnt have to.

If it was going to be something off of Kill Em' All to represent Metallica, I'd choose Metal Militia or Seek and Destroy. I'd probably end up going Metal Militia.

Joe 04-14-2005 08:04 PM
yo gacap99!
blue3 04-14-2005 08:16 PM

That sucks that your drummer quit. The bass player in my band can't even play Sweet Child O Mine or any Metallica song...

Bye gocaps99
