Yeah, Amit is definitely one of the people I'd talk to if I had a theory question. The man is quite intelligent.

Well, he'd better be, especially if he's JHU-bound :p
Thanks :D

The Aussie Version of Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport
Note that this song is blatantly about bestiality

[spoke]There's an old Australian stockman, lying, dying,
and he gets himself up on one elbow,
and he turns to his mates,
who are gathered 'round him and he says:[/spoken]

Watch me wallabys breed mate.
Watch me wallabys breed.
They're a dangerous seed mate.
So watch me wallabys breed.
Altogether now!

Tie me kangaroo down sport,
tie me kangaroo down.
Tie me kangaroo down sport,
tie me kangaroo down.

FUCK A WALLABY

Keep me cockatoo cool, Curl,
keep me cockatoo cool.
Don't go acting the fool, Curl,
just keep me cockatoo cool.

STICK YOUR DICK IN ME

Rape me koala out back, Jack,
rape me koala out back.
Do it somewhere out on the track, Mac,
so rape me koala out back.

FUCK A WALLABY

Let me Abos go loose, Lou, *
let me Abos go loose.
This line's incredibly racist, Lou,
so let me Abos go loose.

IGNORE EQUALITY

Mind me platypus' dick, Bill,
mind me platypus' dick.
Don't let him go running amok, Bill,
mind me platypus' dick.

STICK YOUR DICK IN ME

Smoke your digeridoo, Blue,
smoke your digeridoo.
Keep smoke 'til I shoot thro' Blue,
smoke your digeridoo.

ILLICIT DRUG USE

Tan me hide when I'm dead, Fred,
tan me hide when I'm dead.
So we tanned his hide when he died Clyde,
(Spoken) And that's it hanging on the shed...

[whispered]Fuck a wallaby[/whispered]

What the hell?

good thing Aussies are relegated to that lonely corner in the Pacific.

Jom 08-07-2005 06:31 PM

Those lyrics are a parody of a Rolf Harris song, which is used to teach young children.

Harris is from Perth, Australia, and a famous television personality. In 1960, he released "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" which features a "wobble board." Essentially, it is a huge piece of Masonite "wobbling" back and forth to make a sound.

He went on to use a wide variety of strange, unusual instruments in his music, especially the didgeridoo and Jew's Harp.

he also presents a show called "animal hospital" which documents sick pets in an RSPCA centre

Leave it to asstralians to make humor that isn't funny. :p

Illmatic 08-07-2005 07:05 PM

Perhaps the Aussies should leave satire to the Americans and Brits.

Congratulations 08-07-2005 08:38 PM

I just watched the music video for Schism by Tool

Translation please

Illmatic 08-07-2005 08:39 PM

Tool videos aren't supposed to make sense.

They're supposed to be artsy, to give Tool fanboys something to feel special about.

I don't like or hate their music, I just hate the elitism they spawn around many of their fans.

We have the Daily Show.

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

ATM 08-07-2005 08:51 PM

/sticks Daily Show in pipe

/eats cheetos

Illmatic 08-07-2005 08:54 PM

Speaking of getting stoned, my girlfriend said that all she has done today is smoke up, and that she "deserves it after last night".

I can't say I blame her.

ATM 08-07-2005 08:55 PM

I couldn't find any weed today.

I ended up drinking whiskey and playing Mario Kart \m/

Riva 08-07-2005 08:59 PM

Well, I must admit, there are some American comedies that I like to watch.

House (doesn't really count because Stephen Fry is in it and is the funniest part of it)
The Simpsons
Futurama
Hogan's Heroes
MASH
Happy Days

However, British comedies pwn all.

Black Books
Blackadder (every series)
Dad's Army
Coupling
Mr. Bean
Red Dwarf
and many more...

Jom, how in the world did you post that in this thread?

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Plus Seinfeld and Frasier will own anything else on that list.

I don't like South Park, but I watch Seinfeld daily and it's hilarious every time.

Endless Obsession 08-07-2005 09:21 PM

Family Guy was funny, but the new episodes havent been living up to the old ones.

Riva 08-07-2005 09:24 PM

So, I have to fill out a new form for my goverment's student allowance, since they decided to cancel me again.

Anyways, one of the questions looks like this:

Note: The following question is optional. You do not have to answer this, it will not affect your payment. Answering will allow us to improve our services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Please tick one:

Are you of Aboriginal []

descent?

Note: If you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, you may be elligible for ABstudy. Call Centrelink for further information.

Illmatic 08-07-2005 10:25 PM
oh come on its just a bit of fun. What is MX without drama anyway?
The reason I ask is because I've never seen any British comedies (except The Office, which is pretty good) and I don't think many other Americans have (you lived in Europe, so you would know), so what it boils down to is us Americans loudly shouting about how great our sitcoms are, while all the British users loudly shout about how great theirs are, and that's not very fun.

Endless Obsession 08-07-2005 10:28 PM

Isnt Office Space based of some British citcom?
