Bob Dylan grew up Jewish, lost his faith somewhere along the line, and then became a born-again Christian, from what I can gather.

if u really want to expirence classic rock listen to a variety of old bands but listen to alot of led zeppelin best rock band ever
|
Is someone complaining about our talk of jam bands? I haven't notice anyone telling us to keep on track in this thread. But if it's not a hassle for the mods to change the name of the thread, then why not..it's not gonna hurt anything. I think it's a decent idea, as long as Bonzo doesn't mind us changing his wonderful thread, as it is the only thing newer members know him by anyway.
We might as well just call it the "Classic Rock and Jam Band Community Thread". That way there's just about no way we can get off topic ;) (not totally serious of course)
Yeah. Bonzo was kind of a rock n roll/ hard rock guy. But he did like jam too. |
when he was pissed off about being famous, he tried to make people hate him, so he went to another country (i'm sure someone here knows the name of the country) and got a picture of himself in a skullcap (is that the correct term?). It didn't really work out the way he wanted it to though, just got him more publicity.

Yup, we all listen to a good deal of zeppelin. 'cept badmoon. |
if u really want to expirence classic rock listen to a variety of old bands but listen to alot of led zeppelin best rock band ever
Shut up. |
if u really want to expirence classic rock listen to a variety of old bands but listen to alot of led zeppelin best rock band ever
hahaha, is this some sort of joke? i suppose if he spelled led zeppelin right, then he's serious. to poster: have you seen how many posts are in this thread? obviously we all already deep into the world of classic rock and we have developed our own favourite bands, we don't need your advice on how to "experience classic rock". sorry if that sounded too mean. I'm assuming you are new...welcome to the Classic Rock thread. and i believe Disconnection Notice is right about the Bob Dylan thing. |
I prefer my two word answer the most for dealing with noobs. I sincerely think they do this to piss me off.
|
Hey that's sorta what I am I suppose, and I didn't even realize it. I like to believe there is a higher power of some sort, like a God, or guardian angels, or spirits (like Native Americans belive)...but I find it hard to believe all the stuff religions try to tell us.
.
Hey That sounds a lot like what Ian Anderson talks about in the songs in Aqualung |
I prefer my two word answer the most for dealing with noobs. I sincerely think they do this to piss me off.
Angus goes around in the threads saying dumb $hit all the time. He thinks he's some sort of genius when he's really just a dumb@ss |
i could have thought of a better two words to use, although one always gets censored for some reason. i try to take the nicer, more understanding approach to n00bs, since it wasn't too long ago i was one. luckily everyone in this thread was nice to me when i first arrived.
hey Angus Young13, what type of Classic rock do you prefer? The more bluesy stuff like Clapton, folky stuff like Neil Young, Jam stuff like the Allmans etc etc? or are you just plain hard rock (guessing from you're ac/dc type name)? |
I'm 103% sure that ANGUS YOUNG13 likes only "noob classic rock" like Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Pink Floyd (and that's it).
|
Hey That sounds a lot like what Ian Anderson talks about in the songs in Aqualung
ha, i suppose it did. I never thought of that. I think My God is my favourite song just because of his thoughts and concepts of organized religion. Very well thought out. |
well i like all sorts of classic rock, tom petty, boston, kansas, and some classic metal, motley crue, acdc, black sabbath. DIO but not alot of people like thier work and also like r&b like led zepplin sorry for typing it wrong i was in a hurry but thanx for being understanding some people are just mean
|
thumbs up for Tom Petty. He's not n00b classic rock.
|
a boston fan eh. I'm a fan as well. Their debut album is definitely their best (best selling debut album of all time, before NSYNC came along). My favourite song is definitely Peace of Mind. I find their vocals are almost Beach Boyish the way they fit in three part harmonies, not to mention the harmonized guitar solos. What can I say, I'm a sucker for harmony (Simon and Garfunkel anyone?)
edit- it only took a couple Kansas songs to win me over, although I've only heard a few of their hit songs, nothing more than that. Carry On My Wayward Son is almost a masterpiece (using the term loosely) |

maybe you're the long lost son of Ian Anderson :D |
When you're agnostic or deist, you believe in God, but you don't agree with the teachings of major religions.
Not quite. If you're agnostic, you maintain that we can't know whether or not there is a god. Anyway, do you guys actually want the title of the thread changed, or are you just going to start discussing jam rock without bothering with the change? |
peace of mind is one of my favorite boston songs too very good guitar work great lyrics and as u said very harmonized Kansas has alot of that as well
but one of my all time favorite classic rock bands is BAD CO. juke box hero is a very good song |

what crap do u listen to |
juke box hero is a very good song
I believe that's Foreigner :) |
yeh but there are more kansas songs than just the ones u hear on the radio but those songs are very good
|
I don't think it's really necessary to change the thread title, since we are all already regulars here...but including the title Jam Band may attract some new good posters.
I think it's really up to the guys who have been posting here since the start, like Rock and Badmoon. Bonzo too if you find it necessary. I don't think I should have any real power in decision making around here. Especially for something as sacred as the Classic Rock thread. :p |
o yeh my mistake forienger and they sing double vision as well
|
what crap do u listen to
Calm down. Disconnection Notice likes those bands (I think). It's just that people who only listen to the main bands suck. |
Who wants to be the one to push me over 1000 rep?
|
can we set aside like two seconds to actually decide on this thread title changing idea? stop arguing about what defines a n00b and what doesn't. acdcrockr, please leave the thread for about ten minutes, the adults need to talk.
edit- Juke Box Hero is a great song. I love when he sings "that one guitar!" that song can basically speak to any amatuer musician. and Badmoon, you're newest avatar rocks. |
Who wants to be the one to push me over 1000 rep?
Done, i'm surprised you don't jave 1000 already. |
I believe that's Foreigner :)
Foreignor is a very awesome band that never hear about. What's up with that? |
