enlighten me please

RetiredAt21 12-16-2009 09:45 PM

both = gay

Brew 12-16-2009 09:46 PM

i don't mind a bit of Xasthur every now and then but the stuff i've heard isn't anything to get too excited about

Txus 12-16-2009 09:47 PM

lol

i bet you havent heard liturgy yet

liturgy are great if you like krallice, i like them better tbh

xasthur suck though

his only good thing is the split with leviathan

I'm listening to Skagos new EP, this is wonderful.

Brew 12-16-2009 10:02 PM

i've not heard Liturgy yet, no. i do enjoy the first Krallice album, the new one was a bit meh though.

edit: i quite like Xasthur's version of Spell of Destruction.

RetiredAt21 12-16-2009 10:04 PM

yeah man Liturgy are so underground.

Angmar 12-16-2009 10:10 PM

HIPSTER BLACK METAL!

illmitch 12-16-2009 10:11 PM

i love xasthur :(

Stormrider 12-16-2009 10:14 PM
yeah man Liturgy are so underground.
That's beside the point he was making. Drudkh aren't so underground on here and you called them gay before listening to them and now you like them :p

Txus 12-16-2009 10:21 PM

Exactly what my bro Jammie salad boy said!

Room13 12-16-2009 10:27 PM

it was cute at first but it all sounds basically the exact same at this point
idk it fits the sound

you have to admit amesoeurs is an amazing act

Tyler 12-16-2009 11:51 PM

No I don't, I thought the only Amesoeurs I'd heard was bad.

oh, and posting on page 1337

publicastration 12-16-2009 11:58 PM

really?

I dig the whole cure meets melodic bm sound a lot

illmitch 12-17-2009 12:00 AM

Anglachel 12-17-2009 12:00 AM

TimJim 12-17-2009 12:01 AM
the ruines humaines ep is absolutely amazing
EP is good. I thought the full length was pretty bland though.

illmitch 12-17-2009 01:26 AM

yeah, i didn't think the full-length was bad per se, but it definitely didnt live up to its promise

Meatplow 12-17-2009 01:35 AM

need some more first wave

illmitch 12-17-2009 01:40 AM

sarcofago, von, blasphemy, hellhammer, tormentor, bulldozer

FatalEnergy 12-17-2009 02:16 AM

"Come on ride, to ride on me BITCH."

Bathory is just about the most elite band in existence.

witchxrapist 12-17-2009 03:16 AM

Bathory's definitely one of the best '80s metal bands, hands down.

Brew 12-17-2009 06:38 AM

It seems like an obvious mention but Venom are essential first wave.

cedrickthesaxon 12-17-2009 07:53 AM

Manes

Manes first album is so evil

RetiredAt21 12-17-2009 08:47 AM

Liturgy sucks get over it. Right up there with Krallice in sheer uninterestingness.

Bleekill 12-17-2009 12:53 PM

Yeah I've tried to get into Krallice but....not happening. It's real boring, but the funny thing is I like drone which most would think is more boring. I've been meaning to check out Liturgy but after what he said in that BM article yesterday...f*ck it.

I'm starting to get into Foulest Seman of a Sheltered Elite - Ruins of Beverast
Still liking Cobalt and Glorior Belli the best out of this years BM though.

Moon Flavor 12-17-2009 02:14 PM

Dude Cobalt is NOT black metal

Bleekill 12-17-2009 02:33 PM

Ok wtf do you consider it then? It's ****ing black metal with some influences like thrash and atmospheric **** like Neurosis. But ****yes it's black metal.

Txus 12-17-2009 02:36 PM

I think he is just messing with you tbh

they are definitely black metal yeah.

Bleekill 12-17-2009 02:36 PM

I would hope so lol.

Moon Flavor 12-17-2009 02:38 PM
I think he is just messing with you tbh

this

although i find this thread a little hypocritical if cobalt is black metal and so many other bands that are way black metal-er aren't considered black cuz they're not tru

but i could care less what's black metal anyways

Txus 12-17-2009 02:39 PM

what bands? just out of curiosity

Angmar 12-17-2009 02:44 PM

Justin's opinions =/= the whole thread

Moon Flavor 12-17-2009 02:47 PM
what bands? just out of curiosity
idk **** like dimmu borgir, old man's child, a lot of watchmaker songs, dissection

idk

just seems funny that there are so many different sounds classified as death metal but when it comes to black metal so little variation is tolerated

Txus 12-17-2009 02:48 PM

Yeah, Justin thinks only the primitive stuff is considered Black Metal.

Watchmaker I disagree, they might have the influence but black metal? nah.

The rest are definitely black metal even though pretty shitty bands.

Any of you like Gallhammer? Probably the best crust/black metal band I've heard and they are all japanese chicks.

illmitch 12-17-2009 02:49 PM

i dont consider those bands not black metal i just consider them ****

gallhammer is pretty good from what ive listened to. isnt elim their bass player or something
