Those vids were awesome. Paul still has the voice.

Atica 10-08-2006 09:54 AM

Yeh, pretty cool. He went to my country like 2 months ago and performed witha local band, it was great.

pate 10-08-2006 10:03 AM

Wow. He is so awesome.

crag 10-08-2006 10:09 AM

yeah Paul still rocks :)

too bad he looks bloody scary now:p

pate 10-08-2006 10:15 AM

...but that's a good thing.

the_uber_penguin 10-08-2006 01:00 PM

I wish the sound on my computer worked...

I'm having to be old-school and use my ultra-temperamental CD player.

Joe 10-08-2006 09:53 PM

For those of you going to see Iron Maiden on this tour...

Don't get your hopes up.

At my show (and the other two shows from this tour), they played 15 songs

10 of which are from A Matter of Life and Death.

Yes, they are great. BUT, They didn't play:

The Trooper
Aces High
Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills

and many more. They played 2 Minutes to Midnight, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear of the Dark, and two others I don't remember.

It was awesome, but don't go in expecting some awesome old stuff.

pate 10-08-2006 10:35 PM

We already knew about the setlist.

His solo music isnt that bad either. The cd i uploaded for you all had some pretty nice tunes on it.

Irons_rock 10-09-2006 07:32 AM

Get to see them in 3 months today i think :) can't wait.

 we're edging pretty close to the 20000 post too :)

Josh 10-09-2006 01:22 PM

/prays* to get 20,000th post, just for extra awesomeness...
i love having a walkman phone, it means i can take AMOLAD around with me without my mp3 player :)

*to Eddie, not any other crappy god.

JamJar 10-09-2006 02:34 PM

Paul looks so wierd now. If he wasn't introduced as Paul Di'anno, I wouldn't have believed that it was actually him. He certainly still can sing though :)

/hasn't posted here in ageeees

NP: The Longest Day

i love the "enter hell's gate" bit, Bruce sounds so evil on that part  and on all the verses really.
one of my favourite songs on the new album. i just downloaded the bootleg as well, so i'll give that a listen soon.

pate 10-09-2006 03:29 PM

The bootleg is pretty enjoyable.

Josh 10-09-2006 03:34 PM

i'm printing off a load of lecture notes, so i'm going to de-compress it and listen in a few minutes. are all the tracks tagged?

JamJar 10-09-2006 03:42 PM

I would download the bootleg but I don't want to ruin the live experience of the current tour (that and my computer is totally out of memory)

EDIT: Page 1000 claimed

Josh 10-09-2006 03:43 PM

gah, you bastard.
:p
i know i'll still love seeing them live, it's just because i'm curious as to how the songs will turn out live.

pate 10-09-2006 04:01 PM

Yes the tracks are tagged.

Josh 10-09-2006 04:25 PM

goodie. just putting them on my mp3 player, then i'll give them a listen :)

EDIT: just put it on now, i love that they use Mars from The Planets as the intro piece :)

EDIT2: onto the end part of Brighter Than..., IMO the songs are coming out much better live. :)

That part is one of my favorite parts on the whole album :)

Could anyone possibly upload the boot to YSI or something, megaupload keeps saying that there is not enough ports for my country :(

the_uber_penguin 10-10-2006 06:08 AM

It's all about the second verse for me:

" The rising dead, faces bloated torn
They are relieved, the living wait their turn
Your number's up, the bullet's got your name
You still go on, to hell and back again

Valhalla waits, valkyries rise and fall
The warrior tombs lie open for us all
A ghostly hand reaches through the veil
Blood and sand, we will prevail"

-The Frank 10-10-2006 06:40 AM

^ Yeah, maiden have really surpassed themselves with lyrics this album. Bruce really knows how to write 'em!

the_uber_penguin 10-10-2006 10:05 AM

Yep.

Some amazingly good riffs as well.

Most of the ones from TROBB, as well as the counter-riff behind the bit where Bruce is singing "For the greater good of God!" come to mind.

crag 10-10-2006 10:13 AM

It's just a damn good album overall i can't fault it in any way, even live it sounds fantastic :)

pate 10-10-2006 11:02 AM

Indeed.
